"But I didn't know about the rule!" Probably the most important and least obvious are no pets (or no Holsteins?) and no biking.

Beautiful nature center with wooded trails! We began a weekly walking group here, venturing through the woods, over the creek and on a bridge through the marsh. Take in the gorgeous scenery during the summer and fall exploring 3 miles of trails! I look forward to the spring colors. They added a fabulous climbing structure and play area for kids. They also have an indoor center with several events, a small outdoor amphitheater and a picnic shelter. Check out their website for the events calendar. Hours: November - March, daily from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.April - October, daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Love this nature center. Such a convenient location. It's an enjoyable place for all ages. Looks like they have recently added some new climbing structures in the nature play area. There's also a water pump to play in that area as well in the warmer months. Didn't get pictures of the inside since it was closed for Veterans Day, but my kids love seeing the frogs, turtles, playing with the puppets, and the binoculars for bird watching! We did a loop on the trail (not sure how far it goes out taking another path) and my almost 2 year old daughter was able to walk the whole distance. Great free activity to do all year long. No dogs allowed as other reviewers have written!

Great park with a mix of trails over marshy areas, water, and through woods. There are a lot of viewing spots and I got to see a lot of wildlife. Great easy hike. The nature center was also great. There's a mix of live native animals and interactive activities for kids. I also liked the viewing area where you could watch the bird feeders. A great spot for a visit!

It's the crown gem of Fridley's park system. By crown gem, I mean nasty, dank sewer. There are lots of muddy and poorly marked trails, rickety bridges of wood, metal and plastic, noisy tapping woodpeckers, incessant shrieking red-winged blackbirds, chirping chickadees, loud honking geese, duck duck grey ducks and a plethora of tree rats (squirrels). It's everything that a nature fiend would detest after thirty seconds in this hellhole!Gee whiz!I'd much rather spend my time in one of the nearby chain restaurants. Oh wait, no I wouldn't.I do enjoy the peace here, so please don't come here. Thanks. ;-)

Springbrook Nature Center has really come a long way. The nature center today is very well kept up and is very clean. They have a children's play area right by the main building which the kids there seemed to love! They also have an amphitheater around the building too.The trails themselves are great. They are many different lengths of trails depending on how long you want your walk or run to be. The long path that goes around the whole park is the best one though. It is absolutely beautiful and you get to see all the best parts. There is a lot of wildlife here! On this particular visit, we saw a family of 4 deer twice while walking on the trails. Truly a fun thing to see.Fun place to come with family or friends, even by yourself! Great place for kids and adults alike. And the best part is that is wonderful nature center is totally free.

Enjoyed a beautiful Autumn walk last week...as it just began! Participated in a free program by the Springbrook Nature Center, called "Walk with a Naturalist". Participants met at the visitor center for this lovely naturalist-led hike, who were two young very intelligent, friendly, personable young women and we got to borrow a pair of Springbrook's binoculars... so grateful, as I forgot to bring my own. Through the binoculars I was able to view the lovely critters, birds and fungi, up close. The paths are wide and well marked, and are covered with varying levels of wood chips and mulch. Not only did I get a good 75 minute workout, but I went home enlightened, as I learned so much about Minnesota wildlife, fauna and history!

Nice hike close to the cities. It feels like you drove out of town. Which is nice for the gas tank it's a different hike every time. There a lot of different trails you can take. The people in the pavilion are very knowledgeable and offer help when needed. Lots of fun programs for all ages. Lots of wild life. Highly recommend this place for a quick get away from the stress of life.

I have lived in the area for more than 10 years and had never visited. The walking paths are very nice and the building had interesting information and lots of opportunities for kids. The setting had picnic areas and places you could sit if you needed to rest.
