Spotlite Cafe

Fantastic breakfast and service. This lovely cafe overlooks Mille Lacs lake. We sat in a booth near the window to enjoy the view. I chose the pancakes and bacon and it was delicious. Bacon was nice and crispy and pancakes fluffy. Husband has eggs with just the right doneness, crispy hashbrowns, nicely browned toast, and tasty bacon. He said it was the best breakfast he's had that he didn't cook. HA!Service was great. Cafe style was quaint. Great experience.

GREAT BREAKFAST! It is a nice small town diner with great prices and amazing food. Breakfast that good you dinner is too. Building has a great classic small dinner feel and the staff is friendly and great service. Really enjoyed it if your in the area 100% recommend stopping in for a bit and that classic atmosphere.

Nested in the small community of Garrison, it's a great shop with actual useful things...and a great ice cream spread to enjoy in front of a huge lake.

If you are looking for quick easy cafe' food nothing fancy this will work for you. Prices are reasonable and a nice view of Mille Lacs

Stopped here on the way home from camping for some good old fashion cafe breakfast! I had the country fried steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns with toast. It was just what I needed after a night of drinking. Decor is exactly what I expected with old carpet and tables but it is an old school cafe. It's right off the highway for easy access, nice to see old school cafes still serving good food!

My last name is Svoboda, so obviously Svoboda spotlight cafe caught my eye. But I think it was more than that coincidence that pulled me in. For over 70 years Svoboda's spotlight cafe has sat overlooking the dark and perilous waters of Lake Mille Lacs beckoning weary travelers right off the busy highway towards the comfort, safety and good home style cooking found within it's doors. Svoboda in many parts of the world translates into meaning the word "freedom." So although Svoboda doesn't sound like a very American name, may I suggest stopping at this restaurant is one of the most American places you can go? I shall, and I do!! God Bless America... go to Svobodas!

Country music, decor from the 70's, the smell of the deep fat frier, fast friendly service: yes this is small town dining. I had the walleye dinner for $18.95 which came with my choice of potatoes (I chose fries) and a salad (romaine with onions and croutons.) My boyfriend had a Reuben sandwich and he said it's the worst he's had in his life. He never complains about food, but he had to cut off a big hunk of grizzly fatty meat. There was a rollicking ice cream store next-door. Free parking in the front...

We stopped here without planning to and we are so happy we did. We camp out here all the time but have never been here. Service was top notch and food was great café/diner food. Breakfast all day made my husband a happy guy! When we finished dinner we popped over to the little ice cream shop that's attached (same people running it) and got the same great service and yummy treats!

Had the special this morning and needless to say I couldn't eat it(country fried steak and sausage gravy hashbrowns toast) ordered my eggs over easy and got sunny side up hash browns were way too greasy and the steak was terrible, my dad had two eggs and French toast, had to ask waitress to get his eggs because she didn't bring them with his French toast. $31.50 for 4eggs and toast . Won't be back, just can't justify that kind of money for unsatisfactory food.

Every day their special changes and today I had their breakfast special. And my good it was Amazing. The service is always good when I go there. And the breakfast was amazing. So I'm giving it 5 stars. The only time not to come here is on Father's/Mother's Day cause it's usually packed and the food doesn't taste that good.
