Absolute best toy shop!! Best selection and staff knows about every item in the store. They have the best recommendations. This is our go to spot for birthday gifts. They wrap gifts too. They also offer a "registry" where kids/parents can make a custom list for friends and family to shop from. We've done it for out of town family for Christmas! We are in the thick of the birthday party circuit and are at the store weekly

***** Something Safari is awesome. Floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall toys. Toys from my childhood to toys from today. Toys for infants up to death (not to be morbid). I came in here looking for a pacifier clip. I have been striking out, but I found an awesome teether that attached to one of the pacifier clips I already own. There were a number of other toys that you find in boutique shops here in the toddler infant room. There are outdoor toys like swings. One of the coolest things was a light up saucer that you can swing on. Yes, I'm a big kid. There are zillions of boardgames, stuffed animals, Mad Libs... you name it. Best of all they have complementary gift wrapping. I highly recommend this toy store.Same building as 318 cafe.Employees are great. They interact with you and show you how to use the toys. They don't just stand behind the counter.

My 13 yr. old daughter went to this store with two, well-behaved kids she was babysitting and was promptly and rudely asked her age and where their mom was. After answering her abrasive questions my daughter was told, "she better leave soon" and she needed to be 16 years of age. Wow. Quality service... mind you this was the owner of the store and last I checked this is still America. As it were the kids were allowed to buy something each, but I guess their money wasn't good enough. I'd stay away from this store and rude owner that wants to pick and choose her customers.

Our favorite place to shop for birthday presents (they do an awesome wrap job too) and things for my own kiddos as well!! The owner is SO sweet and helpful and remembers my kids interests, so she can easily help and steer us in the right direction. We have been going there for years because we love the selection, service and of course love to support local businesses!

I was at the excelsior farmers market and happened upon this toy store with my kids. It's a little difficult to find. It's located inside a small building with no outside entrance, you have to walk through another store. It's small but has a ton of stuff. I mean literally anything you could want for any age and any pricepoint. My kids loved it I could hardly get them out of there.The owner was there and so helpful! She wasn't pushy but really helped us find what we were looking for and pointed out new things. they have a great selection of toys that you really can't find anywhere else. I will be back!!

I have been buying my nieces and nephews gifts from here for many years. This store has a great selection, and is their favorite place. When I ask "where should we go," it's always Something Safari. The owner is super nice and friendly, and has good suggestions per age. It's always nice to support local businesses; and this store make it enjoyable to support local. At this store, we are not just a generic customer / transaction; rather, the owner always remembers us with a smile. I went in looking for a gift for a 4 year old, knowing she is a crafter and loves projects, but not knowing what to get. They are SO helpful at Something Safari! They gave me so many ideas, had so many fun options, and we also found other gifts while there just because of their wide selection. You should definitely visit this cute shop for any of your gift needs.

Our children love visiting Something Safari any time we are in Excelsior. There is a wide selection of unique and creative toys for children. The owner is wonderful at suggesting gift items for birthday parties, too. What amazes me is that we only visit 3-4 times per year but they remember us and our children's interest. The experience is very personal and fun. It's nice to support a local business that cares and pays attention.
