Well, we were on a Mississippi wineries tour with a group of us. But, this was our least favorite stop. The building was interesting, and the apple wine watered some of the outside plants. However, there was a display of medals that they had won. We probably just picked the wrong selections.

Really great pizza! Fun wine tasting. The restaurant is right alongside the Mississippi River so the drive is really pretty. We will be back soon!

Decided to spend the 4th of July on the Wisconsin wine trail. Seven hawks offers free wine tasting. I believe you can try 3 I'm always sad when we're not on the actual vineyard where the magic happens. The lady helping us was very helpful though. She did a great job explaining the different wines, the process, and suggesting lunch ideas as we continued up the trail. We ended up buying a bottle of the old fashion frontier red. It's a great Midwest dry red wine.

We stopped in while traveling along the "Great River Road." There were only a few other people and the gentleman that helped us was very attentive and helpful. I love that they use grapes grown right here in WI. They offered a nice variety of wines. We ended up doing the buy 3 get one free. We really enjoyed the Old Frontier Red. Didn't have time to stay, but the upper patio looked cute. Overall a great experience! Can't wait to drink all the wine!

I will preface this review saying that I was was there on a Saturday morning during a private event.I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who was working, but I believe he was a manager. He did a great job explaining the 4 wines that we tasted. I felt bad that he was working alone with 30 of us there. But, he did a great job serving us. His brother came later to help and was very pleasant also. When our main part was done, they allowed us to try anything we wanted. Because of that, I found a wine I liked and made that purchase. During our visit, other people tried coming in even though the sign on the door clearly said they were closed. He handled that very well. However, I'm sure they said that he was rude because they weren't able to stay. They returned when we were done.Very nice place. I do recommend it. I didn't even know this place was there.

My wife and I stopped by this "winery" as we were playing around one Saturday along the Mississippi River. We were looking for a cool winery to stop at and enjoy the afternoon together. We looked at reviews and websites from about five different places and settled on this one because they claim to be one of the largest vineyards in the area. We were a bit disappointed when we got there but decided to try it out anyway. I think it is important to note that the views that you see in the photos on the website are not the views that you get when you go to the tasting house. The winery itself and the tasting house are in two different locations and the tasting house, I believe, is the only public location they have available. The view from the upstairs patio at the tasting house is of the sides of buildings and roof tops from the downtown buildings that surround this old house. There is one place where you can look between two roof tops off in the distance see a small piece of the Mississippi River. There was music but the music was actually coming from a neighbor across the street who was blaring 80s music from a boombox in their window. Actually that was a good thing because they were playing really good music and it was the only music available on the patio! The people who served the wine were knowledgeable and very friendly. The tasting was free, but the portion that they gave you was about 1 ounce, just about enough to cover the bottom of the glass. They do give you four different samples which I think is generous. The wine was OK, but nothing really stood out to either of us as something that we would want to come back for or seek it out at the liquor store. The tasting house is a really neat old building but aside from the wine there really are no other amenities. They do offer cheese and crackers but those come from the refrigerator case that is self serve and is more like something that you would see at a quick trip or holiday gas station. We are not wine expert's so I really can't speak to whether the wine is excellent or mediocre. I just know that I didn't care for any of the ones that we tried. I was more disappointed in the location and the atmosphere than anything else and this is why we are only giving this winery two stars.

OK, not great. Not our types of wines, not many on the sweet side ofthings. Nice little tasting room in town. Vineyard is actually out of town a bit. They do use all their own grapes, which is good. Will probably skip on our next trip through.

We were there on the 3rd of July. Quaint spot, friendly staff and great wines. Of the four wines we tried we liked two enough to purchase that day. We did not arrive "fancy" as we were riding motorcycle and were treated as if we were their best customer. The gentleman that assisted us was friendly, knowledgeable, and was ready to answer any questions we had. I always enjoy going into places like this in my riding clothes (jeans, boots, t-shirt, and rag) because I get a really good read on how they treat people. These people were phenomenal compared to a vineyard about 16 miles north. I felt the pours here were appropriate for tasting and I typically got a couple good tastes out of each pour. While limited to 4 wines for tasting, I was given smaller "samples" of a couple wines I was curious about but did not include in my 4 sample tastings. We'll be stopping in as we go through Fountain City to ensure that we have a steady flow of a couple of their nice reds and dessert wines. Thanks Seven Hawks for a great time and some great wine. You've got a couple new customers!!
