Great spot for dinner in the Hayward area! Love the kitschy "Up North" decor hanging from literally every wall - including the ceilings! - here. It definitely has an old timey feel and I'm here for the camp.Service was a bit slow and it wasn't quite clear who our server was, but we were enjoying the ambiance and chatting. There is plenty of space in here, with side rooms that offer more tables and space. You won't have any trouble fitting your whole party here!Almost our entire table opted for the pizza - so awesome to have a cauliflower crust option even in small town WI!I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza but wish I would have gotten their meat lovers version for more protein. Word on the street is they do an awesome fish fry as well!

One of kind bar up north! Great pizza, fries and fish! Enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Nice large bar space for your big group.

Food was terrible. Out of fries and small pizza crusts Also the menu was very limited. The oil that the chicken fingers were cooked in should have been changed days ago. The pizza was subpar. Asked for Pepsis but got cokes. Was not told only coke products were served. Only plus was that server was pleasant and friendly

Sawmill brings a little bit of, well, everything to the tiny settlement of Seeley. Restaurant. Bar. Coffee shop. Theater.Chainsaw art. Canoe rentals.Lodging.Honestly, what more can you ask for? It's big enough inside that even on busy nights you shouldn't have a huge wait. I had a prime rib sandwich that was plenty tasty. They have drinkable wine. Service wasn't the most attentive but it wasn't a problem either. Check them out - you certainly won't be able to miss it, they're pretty much the only thing in town!

I've never thought about doing a fish fry as takeout, but COVID has made us all do things we've never done before! Sawmill's broasted cod, as part of Friday Fish Fry, was outstanding! Fluffy cod, fluffy breading (which is how I like it, versus cracker crumb or crunchy). Not greasy. A good portion. Although, if there had been 3 more pieces, I would have eaten them because they tasted so good! Also good was the roll. Nice and doughy/chewy (which is how I like it), and with some herbs and light butter. Order ahead! (20-30 minutes) and you are all set!

I held a celebration of life for my husband at this wonderful place. It is more than a Saloon it has a beautiful outside setting and several private rooms for holding events. The staff is outstanding, and service is A+. Thank you, Cindy, for providing a wonderful place to celebrate my husband's life.Drew thank you for the food and beverage organization. The Sawmill really did a great job during the celebration of life for my close friend, they really made the entire event not only a great time but provided us with the closure we were all looking for. Made us feel that the event was just as important to them as it was to us!!! Really appreciate all the accommodations they provided us!! If I have the chance to make it back to Hayward we will absolutely be back!!

We waited 90 minutes just to get an appetizer! When our wait approached two hours, and our server told us they were going to place our dinner order atthe head of the line, we paid our tab and left. We will not be back!

Our favorite fish fry! Food excellent; real fun atmosphere; top Friday night spot; excellent service. A restaurant that personifies our little spot in the northern woods
