Veggie combo & Mendi
Ethiopian coffee and incense
Great goat
Mendi, special dish I asked for, and the veggie combo. The special dish they don't have on the menu. You can ask for it and they can make it

Loved the goat dish. You know East Africans don't use silverware and we weren't offered any. That was just fine with me. Kind of like eating burritos. We daintily drank unique and strong Ethiopian coffee in small cups like the elitist British. Our very own chunk of burning incense kept us entranced. The gold and silver display is unusual and adds to the ambiance.

Went on June 15, 2021.Walked in around 1pm for lunch and we were looked at like we don't belong there. Stared at the two people who were at the front desk for about two minutes and they never greeted us. We asked to sit and eat and they seemed hesitant to seat us.I wanted to order #17 chicken doro wat with an extra egg. I put in the order and they came back telling me that it was not available. As stated by the host, they have nothing except for #9, beef tibs. With a menu with over 20 options to choose, only one item was available. Here's the kicker, I asked "when will you guys have doro wat available?" The host said " we have it everyday but today."We ended up leaving and not eating there.Such a disappointment and we will never return.Good luck on your business venture.

I've never had Ethiopolian food. This was my first time. But I will be coming back for more! I love their veggie combo because it's so refreshing. I love the baked goat as well (mandi or handi). I've had variations of Doro wot. They don't exactly have it on their menu but if you ask for it, they can make it. The Doro wot is my most favorite dish! I hope they put it on the menu.

The staff here is tranquil and wonderful. The ambiance is pleasant and the food is delectable. We had the Mendi w/ rice and veggie combo with all Teff Injera. Their injera isn't always gluten free, but we got lucky. If you call in advance the staff will gladly let you know whether there is wheat in the injera that day. Most of the time it is all teff or teff & barley. Cheers!

Went to Sana for the second time last night. The first time the food was good, and the service was OK: I remember things like being offered beverages and flatware and napkins. Last night was different. It seemed like family night with many families and kids running around and screaming; this was OK, I appreciate a family atmosphere. However after waiting 10 minutes for the wait staff, I began to wonder if we simply were not the preferred clientele. When we were able to order, the waitress seemed friendly enough, however we had to flag her down for water, this after being served a first course of soup. When the entree was served - with a lettuce salad and my fish over rice, I asked about flatware and was told all they had were spoons. so we used our soup spoons for the salad, which did not seem like finger food. We were never given napkins and the entrees after the salad and rice were injera, so finger food, so it was good the restrooms were nearby for handwashing. We had to go to the counter to get the check as we didn't see the waitress again. The food was yummy. The service was poor. And I cannot say for certain that it was because the place was full as there were open tables all around. I have no explanation for the poor service. If I do return I know in advance to bring my own flatware and napkins, and perhaps beverages.

Three of us had dinner last night. Food was so so tasty, we had a veggie plater, beef and goat. Yum! Service was good and we noticed she really did a great job cleaning each area as patrons left - definitely don't see that often. Next time we are in MN we'll return
