Sal's Bar & Grill

You can tell they are trying to clean it up a bit but still feels like a college party bar with cheap drinks.

We dropped in for lunch during a visit to SJU on a weekday. This is a big place, but a light crowd at this time and day - mostly locals at the bar. The bartender was our server and he went out of his way to chat us up and make us feel welcome. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. I had a grilled ham and cheese with chips and my aunt had the bacon cheeseburger with fries, both of which we enjoyed. Nothing fancy, just a great lunch in a local place that was way better than fast food. My guess is this place rocks on Friday and Saturday nights during the school year. Some decent looking specials on the wall and overall good vibes. We would come back if we ever happened to be in the area.

I absolutely love this small town bar! The employees there are all fun and the owners (which are always there) make you feel like family almost immediately! There food is impeccable, especially there wings and burgers! The buns are baked fresh which gives them that "next level" flavor. I would highly recommend Sals bar to anyone driving on thru!

Went in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon (during a Vikings game), flies all over the place inside. Could not sit or eat in peace!

These "specials" aren't all day even though the time isn't advertised. Bartender said "these are for students"
