I have been here a handful of times and it's never been out of this world amazing. Over the last 2 years I have been here about 4 times and every time there is major staffing issues and people running around. The food is good but again it's never anything note worthy. If you are looking for a place that you can make a reservation this would be the spot in Wayzata, but every time I have they are always behind and we still wait awhile to get a table. I only go here if someone says they want to or book a reservation but I don't find myself wanting to go back after so many issues. Want to give it a try again because the staff do seem nice they just seem very understaffed every time I have been there.

Really nice sushi spot in Downton Wayzata, with a lake view! I stopped by after a workout and had a solo lunch on the patio. The 2-roll lunch special was perfect for me. The service was great and the food was also very good!

Location best of the best. The wait staff however was young and not attentive at all seems more interested in socializing with other staff than servicing the customers the sushi was warm not a good sign and really mediocre . Now I really like spicy wasabi straight, but the rolls we were served were like eating acid all of them!!! I mentioned it to the waiter and his response was nonchalant no offer to fix it and just walked away ..... just like I'm going to do walk away never go back and go to KAI

Some friends and I have this place a try since we'd been craving sushi/Asian food. Our waiter, Wesley, was so friendly and attentive. He answered all of our questions as well as gave great recommendations.I can't rave about the chirashi bowl enough - amazing cuts of fish, warm rice, great portion size. The only thing that dropped my experience from 5 stars to 3 was the wait time. My friend and I both ordered the chirashi bowls; our partners both ordered pad Thai. The pad Thais came out before the bowls (which is no big deal), but we waited an extra 20+ minutes for our chirashi bowls to come out. They were long done with their pad Thais.Timing was poor - I know the sushi kitchen was backed up, but it made the dining experience less than stellar. I'd still give this place another try, but I'd confirm how the kitchen is handling the orders.

We have been here a few times and the sushi has always been crazy good! The service staff is always very friendly and helpful. Service time is always quick and the ambiance is quite and good for couple or for small get togethers. We will always keep coming back for more!

This place is in a such a pretty area, right next to Wayzata lake area. The outdoor patio seating is really nice and perfect for covid times. The food was great, a little priced high but I understand that's everywhere these days due to covid, the only issue we had was the service took a while to get our food out, and also servers to come to our table. It was average busy, but it was talking a while to get our food/checks/ etc. The food was amazing and the views we're really nice.

We stopped here on a whim last night and the place was packed. We didn't have to have reservations and they were able to get us in. Probably 4 empty tables in the place. The food was really good. The service was mediocre. The covid precautions were lacking. I'd go back here. The food was delicious.

My daughter and I just experienced a wonderful lunch at Sakana. We enjoyed the salmon wontons, miso soup, dynamite roll, and pink panther roll. Everything was delicious! What made it extra great was the service from Ian, our server. He was so very kind, accommodating, and attentive. Thank you for a great experience!

Went in and our hostess sat us down very quickly but then were waiting for 20 minutes for someone to take our order but was just neglected the entire time. We ended up walking out after waiting over 20 minutes for someone to take our orders.
