Amazing Colombian and Ecuadorian food, very authentic! Our group ordered all kinds of dishes and we all loved it. The prices were great and they had an excellent selection. The service was friendly and attentive. We will all be back!!

Definitely the best guacamole in Twin Cities. We come here especially to have it and we bring friends with us. Very kind service too. And super reasonable prices.

I'd give them a zero if I could.BTW, this is a restaurant, not a grocery. And this restaurant sucks. If you like chicken soup that includes chicken skin with feathers and the butt hole, you'll love this place. I am NOT kidding! My wife (who's from South America and loves soup) almost puked. The other food wasn't much better. The service was just as bad as the feathers and the butt hole. The servers mulled around like lost cattle and glared at us, making us feel like we weren't welcome. The server that finally came to help us was SUPER slow. She almost seemed passive aggressive. What is wrong with these people? Why are they still in business? The frosting on the cake was when they asked my young daughter (not in a friendly way) why she doesn't speak Spanish and didn't order in Spanish. How about this: because we live in the USA and we're not required to speak Spanish...or spend money in your restaurant! My wife and I were super offended. And my daughter was confused by the comments.I hope no one pays them another cent and that Holy Land busts out a wall and takes over their square footage.-Daddy Maxx Retro

We ended up here because Chimborazo's parking was full, and we didn't want to wait 40 minutes for a table again. If Chimborazo is like visiting the sunny home of friends, Sabor Latino is where your friends might go when they are tired of cooking. I had a fish stew, and my husband had a chicken dish with plantain, rice, and salad. The stew was delicious, and the chicken dish was very tender. The food wasn't fancy, but filling and flavorful. We also ordered shakes. My husband had coconut and I had mango. They weren't the best we've ever had, but they were pretty good. The menu had a lot of unfamiliar items, and I'd love to try them sometime.I got a kick out of the fact that we were the only people there who didn't speak Spanish. I had a little difficulty understanding the server's English, but she understood mine. Admittedly, the service was perfunctory if not particularly warm, but it seemed to me that the customers weren't particularly polite to the server either (my rudimentary high school Spanish didn't afford more insight than this). This place is a bit of a dive, and feels like the Ecuadorian equivalent of a greasy spoon. The television sports program was in English, strangely, but they eventually switched to Univision. I would give this place 3.5 stars if possible. The food and the lack of a wait merits at least half a star over 3 stars.

No reviews on here yet I'm supposing because most of the people who frequent this establishment are primarily fob. Authenticity makes itself apparent, from the fob clientele to the food, making the trips here worth it every time. I have a craving all of a sudden for empanadas, salchichas y platanos...dios mio.

I had a late lunch here. Ambiance is okay, service was good, and the food was pretty good too. I had a chicken and rice dish that came with a plantain, egg, and a slice of avocado. My dining companion had the vegetarian plate (rice, beans, some kind of fried egg, and a little bit of salad). We split the fried Yucca and cheese. My dish was not super flavorful, but it was filling (and I like food on the blander side). Thirty-one bucks including tip, and we had leftovers. I don't love this kind of food and crave it only occasionally, but I'd return at some point.

I ate here on Halloween and the food was authentic and good. It also didn't take very long from when we ordered to when we got the food. Our server didn't speak much English but that obviously didn't hinder her from being able to take our order. My boyfriends dish was definitely the best of the bunch, it had an egg and steak a whole fried plantain beans and homemade bacon. Definitely good for a hangover breakfast. The only thing I would say was that I was expecting a little more flavor from the rice that accompanied my food but it was still tasty especially when the salsa was added.

We visited Sabor Latino on a Wednesday evening at about 7:00 p.m. It wasn't busy, but there were several diners at various tables around the rustically furnished dining room. Service was excellent, though the food took a little time. But it was worth the wait. We ordered the Siete Mares (fish soup), Aguado de Pollo (chicken soup) and Pechuga de Pollo (grilled chicken breast with french fries). I also asked for rice with the Pechuga, which was gladly added. The fish soup was unbelievable, packed with fish and very flavorful. The chicken soup was also outstanding, with broth deep in chicken flavor and whole pieces of chicken (the old fashioned way). Not realizing, we really ordered three entrees for two people, so the Pechuga was a bit too much (the soup arrives in a BIG bowl - not the dinky little cup that you get in most other restaurants). But that gave us a chance to sample more of the menu. We were really, really impressed. It felt very authentic, with Telemundo in the background, and diners obviously of Hispanic origin. The food was first class - not gourmet, but solid food like your mom would make at home. I highly recommend Sabor Latino if you're looking for authentic Ecuadorian and Mexican food. The portion sizes were generous too. Prices were very reasonable.
