Rudy'sFor many, many years we have delighted not only with the dishes at Rudy's but also, and most importantly, the cordiality, welcome and hospitality they give us every time we go. The menu is very extensive and covers all flavors for all tastes. A Bar that attracts not only the number of drinks but also the layout and the opportunity to talk with the customers.UNTIL NEXT

Rudy's has been on my radar for a long time as a Cajun pasta guy. I needed a good excuse to head to the east side of the twin cities - and a visit from Dad who has the same appetite/love for pasta was just the reason!Let's start with the apps. Bull bites. Absolutely on point with some of the best creamy horseradish around. I darn near drank the stuff and then got a second cup to use with my entree. If they would've given me some to go, I would've taken it by the barrel!A side note before the finale - the bread/butter basket was 10/10. Some places serve dry bread with a little morsel of cold unreadable butter. Not here! Warm rolls with a plentiful dish of butter. Don't let eating it all ruin your main course...Turning to the entree - the Cajun chicken fettuccini. Another home run by Rudy's! GREAT flavor! As you k is if you've seen my pasta reviews - I likey when they throw peppers and onions in, which Rudy's does. The chicken and sausage combo was maybe the best I've seen as it wasn't a meat dish with a few noodles (in fact it was very light on sausage). PLENTY of noodles (I didn't finish the dish). So why didn't I give Rudy's five stars? Well - it was a tad slow and I had to make my "more creamy horseradish" request several times. Biggest detractor - the pasta was very soupy, which is better than dry or too light on sauce, but it made getting a good forkful a challenging proposition (I ended up with sauce flecks all over the table and my shirt).Overall - well worth the half hour drive. We will be back!

Celebrated my dad's birthday here along with a wedding going on and many other people- it was a very busy night for the restaurant. Smaller roof top patio and an oddly placed bathroom.Service was excellentAtmosphere very loud, but expected given how busy they were. Food was excellent. Ordered the oriental chicken salad which was delicious and hearty for a salad.Onion rings- were gigantic and battered which are the best. I don't like the non beer battered crunchy type. These were great.Other people ordered shrimp, pasta, steaks all said to be very good. Nice little gem of a place in White Bear Lake.

Food is excellent. Ordered the 12 oz prime rib with sweet potato and comes with sesame sauce sautéed string beans. Flavors exploding in your mouth. Service is quick and the waitress brings out water and immediately ask for your drink order. Ambiance is calm with up to date music in the background. Overall, very nice restaurant for lunch or dinner. Forgot to mention, there is also an upstairs seating!

We've been in WBL for 10 years and always wanted to try Ruby's. It was okay. Our server was very friendly and the ambience was nice but the quality of food was similar to a Denny's or Perkins. I had steak and eggs and even cooked at medium it was extremely dry and chewy. It reminded me of the cheap steaks that Aldi sells. The Mrs. said her burger was great. Our expectations were high because in the past it had been recommended.

The breaded chicken with beans and mashed potatoes were phenomenal and the event center staff did a miraculous job with the Merrick Party occupants and the cook was superb at the food making. Hands down the best place to eat and the music and the vibe is perfect for a fun or peaceful dinner. Hands down highly recommend.

B I R T H D A Y D I N N E RTook my daughter here for her 40 something birthday, and was both mortified and delighted.Made the reservation, and noted it was a birthday celebration. Isn't it the Hostess's job to inform the server after she seats the guests? It sure was when I ran Fine Dining Restaurants. Mentioned to the server 2 times that it was my daughter's birthday. She blew me off. At dessert time she never offered a birthday cake type treat. I figured, Well I guess Rudy's doesn't celebrate birthdays! So we ordered off the dessert tray. So I call later on and inquired if anything was offered for a birthday girl? " Oh yes, a complimentary slice of cheesecake!". Too much tip for that server!!So, our food was terrific! No complaints, except for the carrot cake. It was moist in the middle, but toward the outside of the slice it was stale. $16 worth of stale.. but I'm not bitter, nope, not at all....... I will say the coconut shrimp was divine. Even better than the shrimp I had in Clearwater Beach FL, and South Padre Island last winter. Huge. Juicy. Meaty. Now, not to be finicky, just truthful, I recognized the older woman that was the hostess. I butted heads with her when I was in charge of a huge event my school had there. She was the most unpleasant and rude restaurant personnel I've had to deal with as a customer. She almost ruined our dessert table. That's all I have to say. Except that if she ever smiled it might crack her face. So left a little disappointed, and I might add our server never informed us of the nightly special. I assumed there wasn't one as she didn't mention it. Lack of proper serving etiquette? Tsk tsk.THERE IS A PRINT OF THE MONA LISA ON THE WALL!

This place must be good cause it was absolutely packed for a Sunday evening. An interesting atmosphere since it is attached to a hotel but the food was great! Red walls and lots of seating options. I opted for the salmon salad which was delicious. It has craisins, pecans, a light vinaigrette, goat cheese and tomatoes. It was a huge plate of salad too! Looking forward to coming back and trying some more dishes. They also had gluten free buns too!!!

VERY nice rooftop outdoor dining area. Especially on a good weather day. Spiral staircase and elevator lead to the roof. Indoor older darker themed dining also available with a different menu. All attached to a hotel. Rooftop food was average. Some very overpriced based on quality. Girlfriend and I shared a very chewy, off putting seasoned medallions Steak plate that should be AVOIDED. Applebees, dare i say, has better steak at half the cost. Drinks were tasty. Just make sure you pick the right food item or it could ruin a nice experience.

Food was so mediocre for the big pricetag. Cheap heated french rolls. I had Chicken Cordon Bleu which was overfried. Fettuchini were not creamy . Beans were mushy. They must've been precooked and re heated. Hubby's Porkchocps were over cooked and dryHis potato luke warm. Same with beansWe had a big group and many were not impressed with their food either. Service at table was great. Both of our waiters were very attentive.Had drinks at Bar area first and had to close tab before moving to table which seemed silly and that waiter was not as patient and polite as he should have been.
