Roots Coffee

When you're up north, specifically in the Cumberland area, Roots is the place to go. It's quite the cute shop, with an extensive list of syrups to choose from for your lattes. I like to try something different every time! This time, I tried a cherry brown sugar iced latte and would recommend that combination. I went on a Saturday morning in mid-August, and the place was packed--however I still received my order in a timely fashion. Just know that they're not open on Sundays, so make sure you visit on a different day of the week!

A Cumberland coffee gem! Weekend travelers beware: Roots is not open on Sunday. This building was formally Idlewild, which was a previous hiking / outdoor store that had since transformed into a full coffee house over the past 2-years. The former structure and wooden floors still exist, however, the space had been revamped in the most positive way where I enjoy every visit. The customer service is always welcoming and there is usually a fresh case of pastries and goodies. I have even seen the owner mixing ingredients in her cooking area which only adds to the freshness you get with every purchase. There are two small exterior tables for when the weather is nice and then the inside is super spacious with free Wifi along with two larger rooms with rustic decor. From teas to blended coffee drinks - this one is the real deal in the town of Cumberland. Totally cozy vibes. Enjoy!

This place is outstanding. I visit whenever I can. The service is excellent, the place is very comfortable, and the scones are amazing. Don't want to miss. Drop in!

Really nice little coffee shop! Service was great. Requested a drink not on the menu and the girls whipped it up for me! amazing. Really good cardamom latte with oat milk to accompany my cardamom scone. Chai was really good too!

Great people, great coffee, and the best made-from-scratch scones. Parking can be a problem but it's worth a short walk.

A nice addition to downtown Cumberland! The drinks are Pro and the ambiance is comfortable, all served up by very friendly staff, giving this place a nice "home-towny" vibe.
