RIVER TUBING REVIEWI will choose this place again and again! Only a 35 minute drive from St Paul. Very well run - you show up, pay for tubes and rope to connect your group, can turn your keys in to the desk, and your on your way! It took us 2 hours to get down the river in mid July. I was told that's quick! There are picnic tables along the route where people stop and gather. They pick you up in a bus at the end (clearly marked) and it's a 5 minute drive back to your car. The river was clean enough, we didn't run into TOO many trees haha. Wear shoes too, the bottom of the river is rocky. It was $20 a tube, $1 for rope, and we did buy an extra tube for our cooler of drinks. Bring a cooler! It costs $20 even if you bring your own tube. I can PROMISE they won't run out of tubes, ever, which was a fear of mine haha.My only feedback is they need to get tubes with cup holders haha. Wear sunscreen and have a DD! Again I will be back here, great Saturday activity!!

Worst tubing in Somerset! Overpriced and have to pay for parking! Waterslides are horrible and slow , haven't been upgraded!

Not sure what's with all the negative reviews. I hadn't been down the Apple River since I was a kid and was back in town from California so we went with another family And everyone had a blast. When we showed up it was drizzling and the employees actually recommended against us going because people get cold when it's raining but we wanted to go anyway & fortunately it stopped. (Everything I read on yelp before this was the company wanted to get every cent they cut out of you etc. this was counter to that and they were definitely customer friendly)All the employees were very nice to us, told everyone what to expect, got our equipment tubes and we got a cooler tube And we were off. On the tail end of the river their employee was there waiting for us load it up and got in the truck to go back no problems whatsoever. The other family we went with had not been b4 & had three kids and had a total blast said they would definitely go back. Very relaxing day I would say we were there on a Thursday and I'm sure it gets crazy on the weekends but our experience was very peaceful met a few other families on the river, had a few drinks and snacks and a great day overall!!

If negative stars were an option I'd choose that. My recommendation is steer clear of this huge rip off. Even if you bring your own tubes you're charged 20, parking 20 per car even if you're camping, 60 per night to camp, the list continues.Do yourself a favor buy tubs for less than 10 bucks and park right down the road and save about 100 per person.

Went down the river once, great time-and then we go to grab my keys to go down a second and grab stuff from the car. they legit are charging you another 20$ if you go down again after 3:00. No warning, nothing on their website, just "oh wow sucks to be you!" I know rivers edge just wants to make money, but it's gunna hurt a lot more when all of us start going to hideaway. Think a little, and stop screwing over loyal customers?

Honestly, this place was a joke. Nothing in their website was true. Myself and two friends drive up from Chicago to go camping, tubing, and water sliding. When we first got to the camp ground their is a check in building which was locked and empty. Their were no signs to go anywhere. Then a fellow camper yelled out that we needed to drive up and check in at the ranger station. So we did. Upon checking in the very young girl had told us that we can drive around and choose any site that we wanted.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.I paid for the camping and tubing package which included mini golf, too bad nobody mentioned that the mini golf course was under construction and couldn't be used. The package also includes unlimited water slides, too bad nobody mentioned that the waterslides don't open until after 5pm. My group of 7 spent 10 minutes walking from our campsite to the river to go tubing (because there's no shuttle that will bring you there). A guy at the tube rental explained that we needed $30 for bus passes to get shuttles from the DQ back to where we entered the river (which is included with the package I purchased), we only had $25. He then asked us if we had our own tubes, we said no but we did have 3 floating coolers. Next, the same man questions me as to why I need to pay the $30 if we didn't bring our own tubes. Didn't he say that the $30 was for a bus pass? Why is he asking me why I'm paying $30, when he's the one who told me what I had to pay for? Only God knows what else this establishment charged me for that was unnecessary. Not to mention getting charged a $10 recycling fee when there's not a single garbage can within sight of the campground. Rivers Edge Apple River will nickel and dime you to death. My group and I will not be staying here again, and I'll be sure to pass on the message.

I'm from California and Yesterday I went tubing here and it was such an amazing experience. From the second my group arrived we were greeted with big smiles, and great conversation. They helped our tubbing experience go smoothly. I think the negative reviews are completely false and I completely disagree with the negative words spoke about this place. They had wonderful costumer service skills and they run there business on a fair bases. The rules make sense and the price was great, couldn't have asked for a better tubing experience.

My other half and myself had a seasonal site there for the past 3 years at the campground and was always amazing! We made many friends there while Continued to make more every season and always looked forward for the camping season to reconnect with all them all. The staff we also loved and have became friends with and absolutely love. They all are so fun and respectful while doing their job amazingly!! It was the perfect getaway being only 15 minutes from our home which was so very convenient for us with our crazy life. This 2023 season was VERY SADLY Disappointedly different being under new management. We felt very targeted in a extremely unprofessional unfair manner with uncalled for very vague accusations from the this years new management only through very aggressive text messaging. These texts stated we were making others "uncomfortable" and "being disrespectful" and so on to the other campers. We were very confused and never would want to do that to others and literally went to address this accusation directly to ALL SURROUNDING CAMPERS AND THEIR STAFF and all were very confused and no one was never notified of any of these accusations. While speaking with other seasonal campers they all agreed this season being under new management has made the season unpleasant Unlike past years. We went through THEIR CONTRACT and made numerous attempts to address this while continuing to respectfully follow EXACTLY what THEIR CONTRACT stated!! We received in just ONE OF the aggressive unprofessional text messages replying to us about disputing these accusations that the wording in THEIR CONTRACT was just "verbiage" and still continued to be told to leave our seasonal that was already FULLY PAID IN FULL for the 2023 season and refused to refund the difference for the season, even though with what was written was in so many ways not followed. It's their contract and don't follow what THEY WROTE UP? So leaving in The beginning of July we are now out a substantial amount of money!! We were very respectful with them and left peacefully while feeling very confused (along with several other seasonals we personally spoke to), hurt, disrespected, targeted, upset...the list goes on!!! They ABSOLUTELY were not following THEIR OWN CONTRACT and that is NOT GOOD BUSINESS that we have supported and always have personally praised to many others, on top of bringing a lot of our friends that brought business to them that booked their own site for numerous weekends!! The past years have always been so amazing and fun. This 2023 season under the new management has been the absolute opposite being not relaxing, not enjoyable or fun! Again, their staff being security, bartenders, ground keepers ...etc are amazing and do their job so professionally and so respectfully well while always smiling having fun doing it. This is not a long story short as there is so much more disappointing FACTS to speak of. There are several seasonals that have continued like us to always return year after year will not being returning for the next season because of their unprofessional and disrespectful new management the 2023 season. It makes me sad as we always have loved it there and it's a great campground, but with the new management this year and the new "rules" currently being ran now will not be returning! I just wanted to share our personal experience so it doesn't happen to others to be treated like this! This is not ok for anyone!! Customer service and there is always 3 sides...I wanted to share 1 side because they never investigated but only one and never allowed us to share ours!! In our opinion is absolutely not good business or fair!!
