River Inn

After a long day on the golf course, we headed to River Inn for a delicious meal. We started with a large, 24-ounce pistachio cream ale - it was fantastic! Then, I dove into the spicy pork nachos. The spice level was manageable, maybe a 2/5 on the heat scale. What truly impressed me was the layering - each bite had a perfect amount of cheese throughout. The sweet barbecue sauce wasn't our favorite, but it was a minor detail compared to the overall experience. These were still some of the best nachos I've had in a long time.4.5/5For my entree, I opted for grandma's prime rib. Being pleasantly full from the nachos and beer, I only managed to finish about a third, but it was phenomenal. This is easily one of the best prime ribs in Minnesota! It was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and had a nice char. My only suggestion would be to include vegetables alongside a potato for a more traditional presentation. I ended up ordering french fries on the side.4.7/5Overall, River Inn was a great choice for a post-golf outing. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly.

got a little break in the weather so we decided to head out for lunch. my friends live nearby and have been talking about River Inn for a while.place was pretty busy but service was good and our waitress was attentive. we ordered the pickle pizza appetizer, the walleye sandwich, a hamburger w/ fries, and we all had a cup of the chicken and wild rice soup.everything was great and food was flavorful. the place was decorated w/ some historical info about the place. we were in the main room but apparently the outdoor places arenice too and would be interesting to ck out once the weather is a little warmer

Had been given a ton of recommendations and heard amazing things. We got seated right away and ordered the nachos and the Reuben pizza. Great service, very cool spot. Food was delicious, will definitely be returning.

Great location and ambience in the restaurant itself. Nice outdoor area (partly covered) which would be perfect in cooler weather. Friendly and helpful staff. The batter-fried walleye fingers and garlic mashed potatoes were great. It's the kind of place you wouldn't mind sitting at the bar to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. The only glitch came in the cocktail. They advertise an Old Fashioned with any bourbon, but they recommend a few including Whistle Pig Rye which I selected. The drink was a weird combination of a normal Old Fashioned and a Wisconsin snowmobile bar Old Fashioned (orange and artificial maraschino cherry) and the ice was melted down a lot. Tasted very weird. The receipt said it was Woodford Reserve which isn't what I'd ordered. I provide this detail only for those who see the Old Fashioned and are thinking it's going to be a simple, classic OF. It was not. Borderline undrinkable. But all in all, I'd still go back and just be a little more specific with my drink order. Strong recommendation to check the place out.

I've been to the River Inn a couple of times, and while it's a large pub with plenty of food and drink options, everything is just OK--not bad, but definitely not great. The pub food is decent if you're not expecting much in terms of quality. One server I had was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and really made the experience better. Unfortunately, the other server I encountered was the exact opposite--rude and completely uninterested in providing good service. Overall, it seems like a good spot if you're with a group looking to hang out and grab drinks, but if you're after high-quality food or consistent service, you might want to look elsewhere.

What a wonderful experience! Our food was excellent & beautifully presented. Our server Page was professional & attentive. The outdoor dining area was such a treat on a great summer day. Will return the next time we are back in the area.

If you're looking for a local hotspot outside of the city rush hour, this is your place. Great local, small town vibe. Food is always great. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you happy. Very historic building from the 1800's where it was a bar for the locals and bank robbers alike. My only request for Rick and Jody is for the staff to have their own, personalized parking spots. That way Kaylee wouldn't be driving in circles looking for a parking spot at 4pm. Goes to show how busy and sought after this place is.

This place is always busy when we've been there. They have a large menu for food and drinks. Many choices of pizza which I have had. The pizzas have always been great. The prime rib and sides are perfect along with appetizers and drinks. Expect to wait for seating but usually not very long. They have a huge patio area that they use all season long with tents that are heated and nice and warm. Highly recommend this place.

This is a really interesting place, an outdoor bar area and fire pit. Brooke was our server and provided some excellent suggestions.The food was delicious especially if you like walleye! I had the Cajun walleye sandwich and my wife had the steak melt sandwich. River Inn is definitely worth visiting.

Great food and great staff. Busy in the summer months but well worth the wait. The food is good and filling.
