Similar to another small town restaurant review I just did, this place is similarly just ok. Nothing awful. Nothing great. Typical small town diner. Staff was nice. I chose the counter area, as it was empty. I'm a fan of canned corned beef hash, so when I saw they had a benedict containing said item, I had to have it. This could have been so much better, if they did the following. They should have toasted the english muffin just a tad. It didn't seem like it was toasted at all. They could have added more corned beef hash. And, they needed to use about half as much hollandaise as they did. The meal was drowning in it (see pic). In this case, less is more. The eggs were good. Hash browns were just ok, too. Some portions were colder than the others. I also did order a pancake. That was actually the best part of the meal. Not your typical buttermilk. It was a good size, too. And a cup of ok coffee topped off the meal.

We tried Red Wing Cafe and had a great time! The food took a while but was 100% worth the wait, the waitress was so kind, and the atmosphere was very cool. It reminded me of an antique store turned into restaurant. I had the breakfast burrito and it was very good!

My wife and I stopped here after viewing dozens of eagles at Coville Park, just outside of Red Wing. The place we were going to go was closed, so we crossed the street to find the Red Wing Café.This is one of those places that you discover by happy accident and are thrilled that luck made it possible. It's also one of those places that I wished was in MY neighborhood in Minneapolis so I could be a regular. The place was warm and cozy, even in February. Although it was packed, we scored a table. It has all day breakfasts and my wife ordered the pecan Belgian waffle. I was more than amazed that it was served with a bottle of pure maple syrup from a place in nearby Wisconsin. Real maple syrup is usually an upcharge in most restaurants these days. It was all the crispy and gooey goodness that you could hope for. All of the breakfasts at the tables around us looked great, so I started to regret my choice of the hot turkey sandwich I ordered with fries (as a substitute for the mashed potatoes). My regret turned to joy because this was one of the best hot turkey sandwiches I've had, and believe me, I've had many! The turkey slices was thickly carved, juicy, and fresh. The gravy, which is usually the downfall, was absolutely wonderful. Not too salty and perfectly flavored. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this! The fries were hot and crispy. Even the coffee was great.I know where we are eating the next time we visit Red Wing.

Waited over 45 minutes for our food. It was basic breakfast, nothing special. Wouldn't order pancakes again.

Great friendly service, tasty food, pleasant midwestern cafe. We had a Reuben and a gyro, both with chicken dumpling soup. Everything tasted good. People at the next table ordered a burger- looked great, they said it tasted good too.

We were looking forward to visiting and having breakfast here. We got seated promptly after walking in the door. We decided what we wanted and ordered. 35 minutes and no food yet. 45 minutes later and no food. 50 minutes later and no food. When I asked a server to check on our food, the server informed us that there was only one cook and our food was "next." We waited another 10 minutes for our food. When we finally received our food, I was not impressed. The food was mediocre, at best. Hashbrowns were cold and had no flavoring. I don't think we'll be back.
