Great bar and the food is awesome, owners were very friendly. Live bands on the weekends.

Fun looking bar for being the oldest in MN. Sad how little effort is put into the drinks. Quiet Saturday night but do hope everyone gets a chance to visit with friendly staff and draw their own options.

Great service. We were immediately greeted by the very friendly bartender. He made us feel welcome and let us know what was popular for drinks. I tried the old fashioned that he recommended and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was chill and we immediately loved this place.

Disappointing. First: they claim to be the oldest established bar in Minnesota. That may be true, but there's no sign of it. They've stripped anything historical out of the place except for a few unlabeled photos. Second: they are terribly understaffed. We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 3. They were very busy because the Art Festival was ongoing, but only had two people on shift. We were able to order drinks at the bar. We were going to order food, but were never asked. A couple that came in after us was able to order and got their food. We couldn't even get anyone's attention to get our bill, so we left cash on the bar and left. Seems like a nice, neighborhood kind of place - just go on a weekday and don't expect any historic charm.

I'll start w the owners. What a breath of fresh air it is to walk into a place and be greeted w a friendly "hey" and an awesome smile! Jamie and Mike are nothing less than awesome! Alright, moving onto the chicken bier cheese pizza.... Please... please.... Try it. I live in vegas so unfortunately I can't eat it every other day like I would like to but, my buns and thighs thank me for it Last but not certainly not least... the bathrooms are the cleanest I've been in. Toilet seat covers and all.

Jamie from The Barrel House is awesome. Welcoming to my husband and I who were visiting Red Wing. Their nachos were typical bar fair as was their pizza but we could add jalapeños. They had a good beer selection accompanied by personable staff. We were able to see a local couple, Carriage House, perform and they were excellent in the intimate setting.

Kyle was the greatest! He was a blast to talk to and was very accommodating to our family. We had tons of fun drinking and watching the Vikings game. 10/10 would recommend.

6 of us in RW for holiday stroll and Liberty's had long wait so called to Barrel house, said we could get in. Quaint little bar that was pretty busy, only 2 working. Drink order taken quickly then we ordered 2 pizzas, which came in decent time. Asked for another round of drinks and server said he was on food duty and couldn't take our order but would send other worker over. After 15 plus minutes we decided to pay and leave. He walked past our table at least 6 times serving other drinks never even acknowledged us again. I had to actually go stand at the bar to ask for the tab. Tip was reflected on service. Would like to go back again to give them another chance but reluctantly.

Bartender does not wait on you even when there is only 4 others at the bar. Too busy doing other things to be bothers with customers. The cook was awesome Great atmosphere though

As an ocassional visitor to Red Wing, I enjoyed a visit to The Barrel House months ago. There were fun cocktails & a fantastic selection of dressed up hot dogs. Sadly, the place seems to be under new ownership & the great vibe of previous visit was missing when I stopped by a couple days ago.
