It's rare for me to find food in Minnesota that rivals LA, but Red Bench Bakery was the real deal. I'll certainly crave their bread and will have to make this a new necessary stop when I visit family. We were passing through town and wanted a light lunch. There was no line at 1:15 pm and service was fast and friendly. I was so pleasantly surprised by my veggie sandwich. The bread was so fluffy and spongy, it tasted freshly made. It had thick slices of mozzarella, a really yummy homemade pesto, lots of crisp greens and tomato. They packed it with a bag of chips in a really cute and easily portable sandwich box. Felt like it was made with such care!I also tried my partner's almond croissant which was pretty good. Overall this is a great spot and much exceeded my expectations for a small-town bakery.

This place has my new fav cookie. Triple chocolate cookie. I can't tell you how good these are. No pic because well it was that good. I also tried the lemon raspberry muffin which was super delicious and big. My sis tried the ham and cheese croissant and said it was really yummy. Cute little place in Chaska, plenty of parking, lots of seating. Would definitely go back!

Great French pastries an inviting, vintage building. Service us friendly and quick. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Very popular place, quite busy at least before noon.

My partner and I have stopped here a few times instead of the chain donut shop across the street. But after a few times we think the vibe in this shop is off. The service has been terrible each time, but we've gone back because we wanted to support a small business and were giving them passes. This morning I was right in front of the staff (older white women) and I greeted her with a nice hello after she finished with the customer before me. She was happily engaged with him. There was a line about 3 people behind me along the counter and she yells out, who's was next? There is clearly a line, and I say, I was next. She then looks at the other white people behind me who all give non-verbal head nods confirming that I was next in line. I'm a non-white body and clearly not a regular from the town. She served me, but was all business and seemed half annoyed. I'm not sure if her reaction was because of race or because I wasn't a familiar face. She was very cold to me, but to the people she helped before and after she was smiling and warm.I had intended to pick up other items, but the rude service turned me off to spend more money. The croissant I purchased was very unevenly baked. It was burnt in some spots and doughy in others. The ham was very dry and tasted cheap in quality. I tried heating it up, but it made the burnt flavor come through in a way which made the pastry inedible. The product quality wasn't worth the money.

I am a Chaska local and my husband and I love Red Bench Bakery. We like to take walks downtown Chaska and this is one of our frequent stops. You walk in and it has such a cozy ambiance. There is a fireplace for the colder months and both chair and bench seating. The staff has always been incredibly kind and will help me choose with suggestions if I cannot decide. They do get busy in waves. The line will be out the door but they move pretty quickly and it's only a matter of time before the line is gone again.I have preordered cinnamon rolls for Thanksgiving and I have also stopped in for a breakfast treat. You can't beat their blueberry muffins anywhere else. This is a great spot for young families. They have children's seats as well. A birdie once told me the owner had studied in Italy for 10 years and makes great pizza that you have to preorder on a Thursday and pick up that weekend. Watch for the presale on their Instagram @redbenchbakery and order asap they go fast. We did this and they did not disappoint. We thought the pizza was great. This is one of our staple Chaska breakfast spots we will be back.

It doesn't look like much when you drive past because the windows are deeply tinted and it's in a beautiful historic building in downtown Chaska. But behind those solid wood doors is pure hometown bless. Went to check out their delicious bakery that is all the rave and ordered a chocolate croissant, almond croissant black coffee and a latte. The croissants were flaky and flavorful! The latte boasted rich creamy espresso flavor and the coffee was also perfectly brewed. This is absolutely worth the drive to Chaska. And will easily become a Sunday ritual.

To my surprise, they have lunch options! Fresh sandwiches on obviously, homemade bread. Tried the turkey with pesto aioli spread, arugula, tomato and mozzarella. Very tasty.

Drinks were good, lunch food was trying to be fancier than needed from a small neighborhood coffee shop (we love basics). The environment isn't as cozy as you'd want from a coffee shop but still a nice place to work remotely.
