Pros - instant hot long shower capable. Streaming tv (Netflix, Amazon, MAX and 40 cable channels or so. Spacious but not Vegas huge rooms. Safe, nice coffee machine, comfy beds and linens!!! And blackout curtain WORKSCons - restaurant food wasn't all that imo. Won't be eating here again, but the morning coffee downstairs was legit. Could use a deep cleaning in the corners and behind beds, or nasty but not awesome seeing while doing my mandatory "bed bug" check (which I saw no signs of). Would stay here again, absolutely. Will refer to friends as well.

The rooms are small. The heat would not turn off and it was excessively hot on one of the warmest weeks in January. The coldest I was ever able to get my room down to was 70 degrees and that was just too warm for sleeping. The blinds also were broken and wouldn't close. They sent staff up several times and nothing was ever fixed. Pretty miserable for 4 nights. The hotel "complimentary" breakfast was not that great for Marriott elite members. The options felt like i was just getting frozen breakfast.Only plus side to this hotel is the skyway....which most other properties are also attached to the skyway...so I'm not sure if this even counts.

Great historical vibes to this hotel. There was a slightly awkward pillar in the middle of our room, but the aesthetics were top tier. It felt fancy and very clean.

Love it.I have to admit I was nervous about booking the Rand Tower hotel. I specifically asked if the rooms would be tiny because it was an older hotel and was told it's an autograph collection don't worry. I asked the same question at checkin. the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. It is original art deco, and awesome. The furnishings in light fixtures perfectly fit the style. The room is extremely well appointed. The staff was exceptional. The decor very interesting and visually magnificent and the mix of original and new art deco was perfect

Super cute hotel with Roaring 20s vibes and swanky new restaurants and bars I didn't get to check out. I was exhausted by work travel at this point, and all I wanted was peace and quiet. Parking is in the garage next door. Unfortunately it's expensive and there's no direct indoor path to the hotel, but I'm still glad it was a nearby option. Both times I went to the front desk (to check in and out) there was no one working. Maybe they take a lot of time off. Maybe they're understaffed. Who knows? My room had a perpetual running water sound, which I'm wondering was to somehow keep the hotel warm. I'm not from the Midwest or anywhere THIS snowy, so what would I know?My room didn't have tissues or lotion, which was annoying in cold weather. Couldn't figure out the espresso machine, either. Probably user error, but I stay in a TON of hotels and typically see instructions for ones that aren't as straightforward. Bed was comfy. Décor was cute. First time in Minnesota, though I think next time I'll check out a different hotel.

Small boutique hotel located in downtown Minneapolis, very walkable to most restaurants, stadium, and businesses. First things first, this is a small hotel, but still upscale. Not much of a lobby (think a few small tables), but a nice bar / lounge area (super pretty as well). Reception is tiny. But staff were nice and got me to my room very quickly. Not many rooms per floor, so easy to find your room. The rooms are decent sized, for a city hotel, but cramped if you're trying to fit a family. Views are OK, though I don't consider downtown Minneapolis to have the prettiest of skylines. Rooms were modern and furniture was not overly worn. Bed very comfortable.Amenities worked well, internet was fine. Bath products were nice and luxurious, definitely didn't feel cheap. Didn't use any of the other facilities, but keep in mind this isn't a huge resort hotel or a 1000+ room place, it's somewhere located in the heart of downtown that's close to the action.

I stayed at the Rand hotel for about a week when I was out in Minnesota. I like that I was able to walk everywhere and it was about 30 minutes from the airport without traffic. It was also about a block from the train stop which is another plus. There is two entrances to the hotel on the ground level. It is also accessible by skywalks. I found check in to be fast but they didn't tell me about my bonvoy status benefits. I had to messaged them to find out that I had free breakfast or 1k points for my status. The elevators were a hit or miss for slowness. I didn't like that there was only one side of the elevators that take you up to your room. To get in your room it is accessible with my room key but the digital key doesn't work for elevators. My room was a good size and the bed was comfortable and soft. There was a good amount of pillows (2 feather down and 2 foam). The bathroom was cool too. The water pressure was okay and the mirror in there was a motion sensor mirror which I liked. The shower had its own separate light and they still provide toiletries at this hotel. What really annoyed me was they did not provide an iron but had a handheld steamer which was disappointing. The room overall was cool except it could use more light. It was too dim for me. The room did have an awesome view of downtown. I liked that the TV had good channels. And there was a fridge with a K-cup machine by Lavazza. It was also really quite in there and was basically sound-proof. I didn't hear anyone in the hallway. During my time at Rand, I called housekeeping twice. The first time they were quick but the second time I had to ask twice. Overall it was cool and I had a good experience.

Had I known that I would be waiting an hour to check in I would've chosen a different hotel. Booked through Expedia trying to be within walking distance to the Armory. I had a $30 food/beverage credit that they did not know how to address. Did not get to eat before my show. Room was satisfactory but there was leftover water in the ice bucket.

BAD experience here this time and it's sad - we've stayed here before and love the rooms, and the property is beautiful but our front desk check-in experience was awful. We payed in full, ahead of time for three rooms, and upon checking in, they of course needed a card for incidentals. They didn't take the first credit card my wife wanted to use, so she needed to take a moment to figure out which card she wanted to use instead. The man at the desk was not friendly about it at all - she merely asked why they wouldn't accept her card just based on the bank it was issued by and he was very condescending and said "we don't take this card, I don't know what to tell you..." they were clearly pissy that we used Priceline to book the rooms because he then said "what you CAN do is call Priceline and see if they can find a different property that better suits your needs". Are you kidding me?! Not only did we book three rooms for ourselves, we recommended this property to friends coming in this weekend as well. Lesson learned. Having a historic, beautiful property is great and all - but poor customer care and snide attitudes are absolutely unacceptable. We could've gotten friendlier service at Motel 6. If you're looking for a historic property and don't care how you are treated then go for it at The Rand. If you want to be respected and treated like your patronage matters, there are other great properties in Minneapolis.
