This place has no restaurant or bar. Just dilapidated rooms and a beautiful view of the lake

My husband and I stopped for a nice Friday fish dinner. The restaurant has a beautiful water view. Our fish was luke warm and garlic mashed potatoes were cold. The soup was room temperature, but the salad bar was good. With a waterfront restaurant, I expected a much better meal than what we got. The first time we stopped, I got the battered fried fish which was more batter than fish. Each time, the place had several people, but not a busy, hectic group, so there should be no reason for cold food. I mentioned about the potato to the waitress and she brought out a hot, steaming plate of potatoes and in the end didn't charge for the sodas. We will not be returning here.

Beautiful relaxing lakefront resort. Great food and cocktails, live music and an amazing view from the outdoor tiki bar. If you're in northern Wisconsin, highly recommend.

I can't say I was the least bit impressed. It was bad. For starters, the seating in general felt odd. There were a few tables scattered around a big banquet room. The decor is very tired. The wood walls are stained with a turquoise color that just feels like the last century. The food was boring and very low quality, even considering the prices, and the steaks were either over-cooked or under-cooked. Also, the cheese curds weren't good. How do you make dry cheese curds? The ONLY positive thing I can say is that the view was great, being close to the lake. But if you're in the Eau Claire area and are thinking about going somewhere with a nice view, The Stone Barn near Nelson is beautiful and has amazing pizza, Jake's Supper Club, north of Menomonie, is actually a very nice place on the water (when the blue-green algae isn't covering Tainter Lake), and there are a couple places in Hudson and along the St. Croix river, as well as a couple places along the Mississippi (though not as many as you'd think). Actually, I think anyone that bothers to put a great restaurant ACTUALLY overlooking the Mississippi river can make a killing.

RANCID MEAT! We visited Paradise Shores tonight for dinner. The décor was dated, but our waitress was wonderful and very attentive to us. The place was nearly empty. She told us the prime rib special was sold out for the evening so we ordered the Ribeye Steak and Filet Mignon. When the steaks arrived, they looked good, but the smelled like rotted meat and tasted awful. I had two bites, my GF had one bite. AWFUL!! Two different cuts of steak both rancid?? or both cross contaminated from another piece of rotted meat?? The manager did apologize and excuse our bill. I have no problems with the service quality, but I did get ill from only two bites. I did feel bad and give our server $20 to cover our 2 drinks & cheese curds; as it wasn't her fault we had bad food.
