San Miguel has a wide variety of pan. I came here on a recommendation of a friend, looking for a specific pastry, the "Niño envuelto." They actually had a version of it, but not the specific one I wanted. Don't forget to grab some tamales on your way out too!!

My husband and I love San Miguel's! The owner, victor, has always been wonderful to work with. We love their cream cheese jalapeño pastries. We have also enjoyed serving them at Ninth Street Soccer and Coffee for futbol matches.

If Mexican Pan Dulces and Pasteles intrigue you, take a trip to San Miguel, a dainty little shop near the Mercado Central, located between Pupuseria & Restaurant & Cadillac Pawn. The Pan Dulces and Pasteles are fresh and baked daily as they run out. Not a big selection of pastries compared to Marissa's bakery; but be that as it may San Miguel still is far more competitively priced than the average doughnut or pastry shop. You go in, grab a tray and a pair of tongs and start loading up everything from Polverones, Conchas, Cuernos, to Cema and Chorreadas all on the menu here."El hombre no sólo vive de pan", if true, than this is the closest you will ever get to spiritual pastry.

I am so glad I found this place! As a recent transplant to the Twin Cities I've been trying to replace the things/food I loved in my hometown. I work on Lake Street so the nearness in proximity of San Miguel is perfect. Primos are my absolute favorite. They are the little gingerbread pig shaped cookies. Anything filled with sweet potato or pumpkin gets my money as well. The conchas (large round sugar covered bread) and the pink cookies are delicious as well. The prices are great here! Grab some tongs and a tray, pile on the carbs, and roll yourself home. Pretty sure it's getting ready to move up the street, though. Keep your eyes peeled!

A humble bakery on the east end of lake stThe conchas here are A-1. Very tasty and tender. An overall nice selection comparable with many similar items and a few I haven't seen at other local Panaderias. The staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't get any standoffish vibe I have experienced at a couple of other places.

A large selection of delicious pastries when we visited noonish on a Sunday--really a lot. We bought 5 items including a tres leche cake slice and a "bread pudding" type and the cost was less than $7.
