Another Osaka location and another good experience - 4 stars.I'm on a quest to try every sushi joint in the Twin Cities. And this week led me to meet a friend (that lives nearby) at the Stillwater location. I know they're a chain, this isn't a Chef Ramsey sort of place. But for what they do, I think they do a good job.SERVICE: As usual, the service was excellent. Our server was impeccably polite, welcoming, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing.FOOD: The food was good. My friend ordering a dumplings appetizer and a small sushi roll appetizer. I started with a chicken choo choo appetizer and 3 tuna based sushi rolls. All of our food was good.CLEANLINESS: I was happy to see that the restaurant seems to be very clean, including the restrooms. In fact, our server was constantly cleaning in between servicing tables.LOW CARBOHYDRATE: It's easy to eat low-carb, keto, carnivore style at Osaka. I stuck with my usual tuna rolls (that are fairly low-carb), and sometimes I order an animal based appetizer. I always avoid large rice portions, big piles of noodles, added sugar, and anything that might hide vegetable seed oils. My insulin levels and my physician like it that way!I read some of the previous reviews and it looks like things might have been sketchy in the past. But on the day of our visit, everything was good. Thanks, Osaka!-Maxx

Waitress seemed overwhelmed and was kind of rude, waited a very long time to get drinks or even acknowledged, food was good but my raw sushi was still partially frozen. We have gone to Osaka in Bloomington and I guess I went in expecting a similar vibe and I was sadly disappointed. Probably will not return.

Incredibly good food. At a very reasonable price. Also fashioned the chopsticks with some paper and a rubber band for our toddler so she could use them - big points there. I'm surprised they didn't have more customers when the neighboring bars are full. Come eat here - one of the few non-american cuisines in stillwater!

I'm hardly an expert on sushi, but my wife and I went there last night on a whim. We had fantastic service, and we both thought every single thing we ate was fantastic! The waitress helped us navigate a fairly long and complex menu. We found things that we both really loved. We highly recommend it!

Amazing food. Everything I've had there is great. Even my 9 year old son loved the sushi.

We grabbed sushi takeout from Osaka because it was in between mealtime and we were famished! The salmon nigiri was soft and sweet and super satisfying. The mackerel sushi was fresh, not pickled, and we much preferred that! The Escolar was a little different than the super white tuna I've had before but buttery and rich nonetheless.Overall great fresh sushi and good value, thank you!

Food is always amazing. You get exactly what you expect. And even though they are short staffed yet so busy, the service is always amazing. Really chill environment.

Tonight we tried Osaka for the second time. The first time was after the re-opening during Covid. It was awful. I hate to say it, but this time was just as bad if not worse. The sushi had brown avocado slices on it, and the fish was tasteless. The pad Thai was also like no other pad Thai I've ever had. Tons of peppers, no peanuts, and just a weird flavor. The service was very mediocre, and the atmosphere is sticky and old. To be in an upscale city, it seems the standards would be higher.

Amazing sushi! Interior is a little lacking, not much of a drink menu, service can be slow. But, the sushi makes up for the rest! Seriously as good as what I have had on the coast.
