Our stay started out terribly. It first took FOREVER for the place to get back to us. I emailed them twice and left 2 messages. They finally got back to me and we booked for the Overlook Suite for one night. When we arrived to check in there were no employees on site, which I thought was strange. There was an envelope with my name on it taped to the door. Then, we tried to enter our room, but there were so many hornets we had to sprint up the stairs in order for them to not come in. We started to get settled in, and we realized the place was infested with spiders. Thank god there was a vacuum to get rid of all the cob webs everywhere, or we would not have been able to sleep. However, when we plugged in the vacuum all of our power went out and the A/C shut off. It was 80 degrees that day. We all needed to shower, considering we were in town for a 5k, but there were only two towels available for us. Thankfully we brought a few of our own, but there were 5 of us staying so we expected at least 5 towels for us to use. We called the number provided to us 3 times before we got a response and a women answered and said she would call the owner about our complaints right away. He arrived and my friends said he was very rude to them. We told him about the hornet situation and he said, "Well do you want me to just brush them away?" LIKE YEAH!! I'd rather not have a hornet's net right in front of our door. We left to go eat dinner, and we came back to the power back on and towels in our room. The towels smelled gross and were extremely stained, so continued using our own towels. This place was so dirty we considered sleeping in our car. In the morning a kind woman brought us a delicious breakfast. One friend found a hair in her egg bake, but the fruit and store bought muffins made it better. I was very disappointed with this place, considering it has so much potential to be amazing. Very poorly run, disorganized, and gross. Needs a DEEP DEEP clean. I shouldn't have to vacuum a place that I paid $250 to stay in. We were also never offered a discount of any sort.

I'll just keep this simple, great place to stay. We stayed in the cave room.20th wedding anniversary and found this on website. We are on our way to the North Shore but wanted to stop at Taylors Falls overnight. Worth it.I like to cook, and I think I make some pretty good French toast. I've also had some pretty good French toast at restaurants, but I've got to say that this is probably the best French toast I've ever tasted. The bread may have been store-bought, I don't know. But the custard and the taste was so delicious. Not soggy not firm, just right. Nice slightly crispy outside with a delicious custard texture inside. The bacon - excellent. Cooked just right. Everybody's picky about their bacon and eggs, but this was delicious. Thick cut, not underdone and not overdone and crispy.Scrambled eggs = very good. It's hard to please people about their eggs. But these are very good and had a slight herb mixture. Two negatives that really don't change my review but if they could improve on these it would be nice. The front curtains should have additional black out curtains for sleeping. The front of the room faces the east so the sun shines through the lighter curtains. You still have privacy. The window air conditioner runs all the time, so you never have a moment without the sound of the air conditioner running.Service was excellent. The host texted us and called us. Very friendly. A real fun and unique place.
