Burt (the owner) is one of the rudest people I have ever met. i asked to open a tab - pretty normal at a bar - and he was extremely sarcastic and said "not without credit card you won't. Obviously I had a card and expected to use it to open the tab. Then - at about 7:30 on a Saturday he decided to shut the place down even though there were two tables of people still there. This is a historic building and should be a place people congregate, but the incompetence and bad attitude of the management leave it a marginal establishment.

Great stop along the trail when snowmobiling or riding ATV. Has a really cool history and a hotel upstairs if you need a place to stay. Only has pizza for eats but still a recommended stop.Bartenders are always great. Cash only under $25 so plan ahead.

Great Bar! Wonderful bartender and owner - knows a bit about everything making it all the better. Decide you've had enough driving and just stay the night!

Bartender (Mary) was very rude, bad personality overall. Left early to go to other area bars because of her bad attitude; first and last time visiting this particular bar due to the bad customer service.

Unbelievably rude owner. At a large event and it was extremely hot. They have many ceiling fans but when the owner was asked if one could be turned on, she refused.

This is a beautiful old building and bar with some interesting history. Ownership has been restoring it for years and it's worth it to stop in just to see it. Which is why I've kept going back despite the mediocre service. I hadn't given it much thought until our visit this weekend when I received terrible service, it was like I was invisible. In a nut shell the bar tender was serving all the locals, letting the people she knew by name jump ahead of us and others. We stood by patiently thinking she was busy so figured she lost track, once, twice, three, for then five or was it six times, when she had served everyone else, five or six at the bar, the four or five ahead of us in line, then allowed about a half dozen locals, people she knew by name to jump the line, I thought we were finally going to get served, had my opening, no one else in line and all else had their beers, I asked what the Voyager beer on tap was, she gave a brief response, it's the wheat, I knew what she meant and was familiar with it because I know a thing or two about beer styles and local micro's. so I gave her an immediate response that I'd take one of those. Buy now, it had to been 10 minutes, but I was still OK, I was sure it was on the way. To my disbelief, she found someone at the bar who needed a fresh one, then another, in the mean time a gal walked up and stood next to us, the bar tender turned to her and asked what she could get her. For the record, We had not been drinking prior, not even one, so we weren't drunk, we hadn't just been involved in an accident with a sewage pumper. I objected when she jumped to the gal, she gave us a sarcastic response. I was done. I was baffled, but when I woke up this morning the light bulb went on. I realized she had know almost everyone she served ahead of us by name. Now I get it, we were not locals. It all added up now, this and our past luke warm experiences here. Unless you are a local or just love old bars, pass this one by.
