I live close to the St. Paul storefront of this charming macaron maker, but I only just popped in for the first time (I'd have visited sooner except that I only recently discovered how awesome macarons are, why did no one tell me sooner). Also, they don't have many storefront hours since they seem to do most of their business online and via catering (and a cute, vintage truck). But on Saturday I was able to pop in and get a box of fresh ones, and they're the best macarons I've ever had! Most macarons look the same, but you can spot some fanciness in these, and you can really taste them when they're fresh, so flavorful! I wound up putting most of them in the freezer for later, and it turns out that if you do that and let them defrost for an hour, they are delicious that way. My favorites so far are the orange/chocolate, the strawberry shortcake, and the marshmallow flavors. These are an appropriate offering for a party or event that's kind of special. And as they are fond of pointing out, macarons happen to be 100% gluten-free. Although I went to their nice shop in St Paul, you should look for them at Surdyk's or at Nadia Cakes. Super tasty!
