We visited on a quiet, snowy Sunday night. Missi's ended up being a perfect special occasion supper for us. The atmosphere was beautiful with holiday decor still up, the tables spaced out so that we didn't feel crowded. Noise level was low, with the TVs at the nearby bar silent. We could easily talk.We started off with the cheese curds appetizer. The portion was quite generous. We'd had curds many places, and these are among the best with a light, crisp coating and hot-through morsels of cheese. They came with a jalapeno ranch dip, but I requested regular ranch, which came right out.I had the Honey Crisp to drink. Fantastic drink, refreshing and warming for a cold night. Our main dishes were apparently some of the most popular at the restaurant. My husband had the short ribs, and absolutely loved them. I had the walleye with Minnesota rice pilaf and vegetables. Wow, it was good. Perfectly cooked fish--perfectly cooked everything. For dessert, I requested the bread pudding. They were out of the chocolate and cherry version listed on the menu but had a banana bread version instead. I went ahead and ordered that. While not my favorite kind of dessert, it was still delicious and made for a good end for the meal.

OKAY - the review is truly such a split. I absolutely loved their unique playing & food. The pricing matches the beauty of their dishes & it all tastes amazing. Our woman who served us our drinks & took our orders had us giggling, was explaining drinks she was making & had a show going for us the entire time! We all adored her & she was very knowledgeable & assisted with the requests of others asking where they could get like minded items for their personal bar. The reasoning for the 3 out of 5 is solely due to whomever the tall gentleman who I assume was a manager due to begin in flannel compared to all his black shirted comrades. The man outwardly showed his frustrations towards a woman who was a little picker than most, he then coughed & then continued touching items in the bar without washing his hands. Our side of the bar was NOT amused by his interactions with people. I am not sure if that was just an off chance or odd moment - I understand persnickety people can be frustrating, but muttering loud enough for others to hear that you've got other things to be doing or are "busy" man, this is the service industry. As someone who was a server for 11 years, you have that person for a small period of time - you're there all night, don't let one interaction make or break your evening.

We have been here many times since they first opened. Each time the experience has been a little different. Last night we arrived for our reservation and they wanted to seat us at the high top directly by the front door. We kindly said no. Then they tried to put us in the back dining room that was dark (lights were then turned on). Again, we said no and that we would wait for a table in the main dining area. Please note that the entire time we were there they never did seat anyone in that back dining room. We got a table with in about 10 minutes and were seated. Now it took another 10-15 minutes to even have the waiter come over (who apologized for the lengthy wait). While waiting nobody even brought over a glass of water even though there were other staff just standing around doing nothing. We ordered a drink and our meals. The bartender finally brought my drink over after about a 10 - 15 minute wait. Waiter then stopped over to tell us they were plating our meals. Waited again quite a while. Meals were served. My husband's was piping hot and mine was just barely warm (which we did mention to the waiter). Overall dining experience 2, food 3, ambience 4. We have even stayed at the hotel which was a nice experience. But when we tried to have breakfast the next morning we could not get waited on. After sitting at our table for 15 minutes we got up and left and went to Perkins. The entire staff needs better training and management should be present to walk around to see what is going on and assist as needed. Many wait staff seemed to be walking around doing nothing at times. It confused me how they could be just looking and standing around when there were other tables that clearly hadn't been acknowledged either. Please do something to make this a better experience! We are not sure if we can come back again as the experience is less than it should be for the prices charged. Very sad as it is such a cute place.

We ordered the Szechuan beef stir fry bowl to eat in our hotel room. The food was outstanding. It was hot, appeared to be fresh, was packaged well and came with a cloth napkin and real silverware. The service when ordering and picking the item up was good. I'd previously eaten in the restaurant and the atmosphere is very elegant and lovely. The reason for the three stars is THIS visit's ambiance, which was my hotel room. The Confluence hotel desperately needs to improve their customer service and unfortunately they reflect negatively on the Sip & savor. Staff from the hotel and restaurant were standing around watching the 4 Nations hockey game, which is fine, but they could have been more professional about it. Meaning, they could have remained attentive and welcoming to patrons while still enjoying the game on company time. I'd love to leave a proper review for the hotel, but I'm unable to locate a page on Yelp to do so.

Cute atmosphere and close to the river. It's attached to the hotel downtown Hastings. The waitress was a little inappropriate but nice overall. The portions were tiny.... Especially for the price. The portions would have been too small at almost any price.

This place blew me away. So nice, welcoming, pretty, and ... good food and service! Love how they transformed this old building into a beautiful hotel, bar and restaurant. Went here for lunch and sat in a big comfy booth. Service was quick and friendly. I had the Harbor Scramble made with scrambled eggs, Salmon, spinach & a scoop of soft goat cheese. It was very good! Going back to sit on the large patio right on the river...or sit inside at the handsome bar. Cheers!

Gave the new spot a try. I'm glad to have another quality spot in Hastings for dining. I would recommend making a reservation, since it's new, it seems to be a popular stop.Menu is a little bit more high-end and the prices reflect that. Had a couple drinks, appetizer, and entrées. I tried a burger, while hubs had one of the mushroom appetizers as his meal, and it was a large enough portion for him to be satisfied. We also were swayed by the dessert menu and gave the peanut butter cheesecake a try. It was good, but I'd probably skip that next time.Service was decent, typically pretty quick. Only slight was the amount of time it took to pay after we finished.I will definitely stop by again sometime!

This is the spot to go on the east side of the Twin Cities! Just when he thought Stillwater captured all of the vintage Minnesota, look out because here comes Hastings, Minnesota! This modified Factory turned hotel is everything you want in a in a hotel stay! We walked in to this place after dinner, simply to check out the celebration of its launch, and we were left breathless as we overcome by the stunning lobby and restaurant views! Then we ventured into the back for drinks, and found the best Minnesota oasis in the hustle of the Twin Cities! this patio and Riverside views is worth visiting! Get a drink and sit down by the river and watch the boats go by while music plays behind you as you make memories with friends and family enjoying slow pace of being in downtown Hastings, Minnesota! I had the honor and privilege of meeting Ken, who is the manager of this Finn establishment, and it's no doubt this place has the warmth and the success it has because of the management and the outstanding team Ken has put together! It goes without saying this will now become a regular place to eat drink and stay! And it needs to become yours as well!

Not the biggest fan of the dinner but have gone back for the brunch over and over again! The spiral breakfast sandwich is my all time favorite!
