Minnewaska House Supper Club

There's a Supper club/tavern feel to this place. Tonight only the tavern section was open. It is much more like Wisconsin than MN and I mean that in the best possible way. In the last year or two, it has rebranded itself as a brew house and supper club, giving it a bit of a split personality feel but I liked it. I sampled four beers on a flight- four different styles ranging from good to excellent. Cream Ale and Red Lager were my favorites. Much like a supper club in Wisconsin there were almost no vegetarian options- they could have special made me a pizza or pasta without meat, but that was about it. Luckily I am a pescatarian so I ordered the Walleye dinner. A simple salad to start- I loved that it came with a buttered slice of toast to crumble as croutons. I was disappointed and befuddled that it was served on a plastic plate - tbh, at these prices it should have been a real plate. Thankfully the walleye was served on a porcelain after plate. The walleye was cooked to perfect and it was served hot with the fish and potato still steaming. Excellent meal, though if it was a real supper club there would have been a bread basket and pickles. A Minnesota version of a Wisconsin style restaurant. Worth a stop if you are in the area. I just wish given the excellent beer options, there was more tavern style food and a few vegetarian options.

They no longer give free baskets of Rocky Mountain Oysters to each table. The Gourmet Malt Brewery is excellent.

Went here for Mother's Day and they had a buffet style setup. There was gouda bacon mac, chicken alfredo, swedish meatballs, pork loin, roasted potatoes, baby carrots, salads, popovers, and desserts.The meatballs were good, along with the popovers. The desserts consisted of a carrot cake, if i am correct. Overall it was OK; my parents were hoping there would have been prime rib or something. While the food was OK, the service was great. Perhaps it would be better going for a regular dinner with a regular menu. We will be back though. The ambiance was relaxed, so that was much appreciated!

Worst Ribeye I have ever had.you probably shouldn't be trying to push off the leftover prime rib from Friday night as a Ribeye on Saturday night.

Never again. My wife and I walked in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. There were several tables open and we were seated fairly quickly. Then we waited.... and waited.... and waited some more. We were discussing leaving when a young guy came over and asked if we were ready to order dinner. I asked if I could get a drink first and ordered a pint of beer which seemed to confuse him. And we waited..... and waited..... after we had been seated well over a half hour, we walked out. And will never return!

Went for dinner and found we were still able to get one of the Early bird Specials. Both my wife and I got the Pork chop. Comes with a side salad, Pork Chop, Baked Potato, Apple Sauce and a Sundae for dessert. The Pork Chop was delicious and the baked potato was still hot on the last bite. Really enjoyed our dinner. All for $10.95.

Prices reasonable but augratin potatoes served in a soup cup.? Tasted like from a box. Friends walleye was mushy for pan fried. Ribs were good, tender. Salad bar needed refilling,empty containers, and is just so so. Love the char broiler..

Great salad and soup bar with all meals. Entrees were good, but not great. Atmosphere is really dark. Service fast and friendly.

Got seated and it took 15 minutes to even get asked about drinks, ordered 4 sodas and our food, another 20 minutes goes buy and the appetizer come but not the drinks, all during this time the server visited and served the table of people she knew next to us even though they came in after us. 40 minutes in get the drinks, I walk up to the bar and ask for my bill so I can pay for what I got and leave. The owner is now at the bar being rude and asked where I work so I tell him and he proceeds to berate my job. I tell him to back off and leave me alone Im leaving, after I leave the building he runs up to me out side and gets confrontational in front of my wife and kids, I tell him that its not my fault the service sucked and he keeps getting closer and closer in my face. I tell him to back the hell off he proceeds to continue in my face no mater how much I back up and starts to talk rudely to my two young boys at that time yes he got pushed back and he stopped following me out side.. My conclusion is the owner has little man syndrome and cannot take criticism well. All I said inside to him is that the service lacked and it took 40 minutes to even get a soda he is the one that got upset and decided to follow a customer outside and berate him and talk down to his children

Awesome food and good drinks. They receive their cheese from a local creamery and their cheese curds are unbelievable. The owner's are such a nice couple and are very accommodating to requests. No view of the lake but I still highly recommend!
