Although fairly new to the scene in St. Joseph, The Minnesota Street Market is a gem! They are a great asset to the community, especially in their support of local agriculture, farmers, producers, and artists! The produce is always beautifully arranged, they have a decent bulk section, and I hear they will be expanding soon! It's open to everyone, so don't be intimidated if you're not a member - it's totally okay! They also have an ATM on site with a $1 service fee, which is where I often stop to get my cash when I'm in town. Katie (the manager) is super funny and knowledgeable. All of the employees and volunteers are very friendly and willing to help. I've never felt intimidated shopping there. It has a nice, community vibe.

During the summer our family gets produce from the Common Grounds CSA down the road at St. Bens. So when we are in the area we swing by and pick up any other groceries that we might need for the rest of the week. Our favorite items are the bulk bin dry goods, local farm eggs, and local artisan bread. The prices are a little higher then the big box grocers, but because you are buying high quality food from local suppliers you get a free dose of karma with every purchase.
