Beautiful and well curated shop with a speciality surprise: handcrafted furniture by a local woodworker and designer. I highly recommend a visit. Perfect place to go for a gift for a mid century aficionado.

MidModMen is a beautiful store with a lot of nice mid century furniture and other larger decor items.I finally made it to MidModMen + Friends. My wife and I were very impressed with this store. They seem to specialize in larger mid century home decor items like sofas, tables, and lamps.Everything is in very good condition. The merchandise is all in either very good original condition or it's been restored, refinished, or reupholstered. Finally, the store is very beautiful and displayed nicely. The staff are all super nice and professional. They aren't loaded down with a ton of little bullshit doohickeys. I really like this.If you're into mid century modernism, I highly recommend that you drop in and check them out. They're conveniently located on University Avenue, just off 280.-Daddy Maxx Retro

I was in here Friday, and it was a delight! I say this as a guy who hates to shop. Hates it. That all changed once I got inside.Super eclectic, funky, mid of furniture and accessories! I was shopping for something specific, which they did not have (not surprising - it is rare), but it was so much fun seeing all they had to offer. The owner (Gary, I believe - sorry if I got this wrong), was an absolute delight. He was extremely helpful in my search, suggesting alternatives, or other items/places to look. I honestly could have spent hours here, but sadly, I was on a mission and had to move on.I would recommend this store without reservation; I will be back!

I decided to refurnish my office with a standing desk and MCM furnishings and my first venture to the cities was a bit disappointing. I found pieces I liked but prices were well above my budget. I was hunting on Craigslist and found a couple ads from MidModMen and decided to check out their store before giving up and heading to Ikea and I am so happy I found them! Neal and Steve were incredibly patient and helpful and spent a lot of time with my thinking through different options for my office. In the end I drove away with three great pieces for the same price I would have had to pay for one item at a nearby vintage shop so I was thrilled. If you're on the hunt for some stylish mid century modern decor or furniture you should definitely check out this shop. Based on my experience you're likely to find something that fits both your taste and budget. Happy hunting!

Hands down, MidModMen+friends is my favorite vintage store in the Twin Cities. Not only are the owners extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely interested in having a conversation with their patrons...but they have amazing pieces that will make any mid century fan's jaw drop! I would highly recommend them to someone looking for a stunning and one-of-a-kind item for their own collection, or to someone looking for a unique gift for that hard to buy for friend.I greatly appreciate that they invest the time to give each item a thorough once over, and make it look the best it can prior to putting it on the sales floor. The way they organize and display their pieces is fantastic--organized, not overcrowded, and presented in such a way that you can imagine it in your own home. Prices are fair and reasonable for the solid quality of their products.

I was told to go in here a few weeks ago and finally got the chance to. I loved it! They have a wide range of pieces but also VERY reasonable in price. Yes the pieces are mid century modern but they give a price that doesn't make you second guess. Things were flying out the door when I went in last weekend. The pieces are in great condition for the age, none of that warehouse-beat up-crappy look I hate. They have many great NAME brand designers. The owners are also very nice! They were willing to hear suggestions and "wants" from the store. They made me feel right at home and also offered history from where they got the pieces. Like them on Facebook and see their new products! They share the prices there as well which is nice, seeing I live 30 minutes away. Overall, I think it's one of my favorite mid century modern shops in the twin cities for furniture. Heading there today and can't wait!

Owner is an absolute prick and he's rude. The Decor is over priced and low quality. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I would suggest you avoid this place at all cost!

I don't normally leave online reviews because I believe that everyone can have a bad day but today I visited MidModMen and was personally and directly offended. Two men were carrying in a sofa. I quickly asked "are you open today" as to not distract too much for the task at hand. The man in a very snippy tone quickly said "no - what are you looking for?" I was confused since he said they were closed but because he asked, I told him I was looking to furnish a new retail store. He then huffed and puffed and in a gruff tone said "well can't you just wait a minute or HELP!" Now I was really confused. I was barked at and made to feel like a burden because I wasn't helping lift a couch! Was I the problem?? I think not but apparently in this business owners eyes, I wasn't worth his time.To be clear - All I wanted to know was if they were open. I was more than willing to come back another time but now I'll definitely not be back EVER. There are many more of these kinds of stores in the area which are run by much nicer individuals. I would much rather burn my money than spend it at MidModernMen.
