Words can barely express the joy my partner and I got from our first (and certainly not last) Sunday morning at Martha's. While our first visit was made especially wonderful by the couple at the table next to us that we quickly befriended, the delicious food and lovely atmosphere will certainly stick around. It was pretty busy and our expectations of using it as a college-student study spot weren't exactly met, but getting roped into the lively, clearly-established Sunday pace at Martha's was much better than studying :) the food is delicious, not much that can be done on the planning end as the menu changes everyday. However the special place that this bakery is won't, and we'll be back!

It's hard to say even where to start with this place. I would start with their egg salad sandwichs and know that it only gets better from there! My wife and I eat here regularly and it's never let us down. One thing, they only take cash. Seems like a no-brainer for the owner to install an ATM in the location.

The best bakery in the Northfield area! My family has come here religiously on Saturdays to get fresh pastries at Martha's, and the quality is consistently amazing.

Martha's is SO CUTE and has an awesome collection of pastries for the morning. I wish they were opened more than just two days a week, but it makes eating there on weekends extra special. I recommend the chocolate croissant, it's huge.

The chief baker and proprietor is a good friend of my girlfriend's niece (got that?), so we made an effort to head over from Northfield to check them out. They are only open on Friday and Saturday mornings at this point, but they had a good flow of customers at 10 o'clock on a Saturday. There were a dozen or more selections, including a made-from-scratch yellow cake with a buttercream frosting (I had to try), 3 types of cookies, a few savory croissants, 3 types of turnovers (one with a coconut cream filling), bear claws, almost pastry, and an apricot pastry that they call sunny side up because it kind of looks like an egg set into a pastry cup. They also offered soup and a light brunch/lunch menu, but we were there for the sweet stuff. The cafe is neat and clean, with a double door so the cold air doesn't penetrate very far. Sit by the windows to stay away from the traffic by the counter.

Worth a drive from the Twin Cities to sample their excellent bakery! My BF prefers it over Patisserie 46. We treated ourselves to a blueberry scone, almond croissant, pumpkin muffin, and raspberry turnover. All were delicious. We were too early to try their homemade soup. Just a few miles SW of downtown Northfield.

Wow, Martha's is the epitome of perfection! My family sampled everything from sweet turnover pastries to savory scones to the soup of the day. All you could hear coming from our table were sounds of pure enjoyment and appreciation. My favorites were the savory pastry with sausage, the red lentil curry soup, and the cream cheese pastry. I never even got a bite of the bacon cheddar scone or the raspberry turnover, however, because they were greedily inhaled by my children in under 60 seconds! The soup was every bit as good as my own homemade lentil soup and I don't think I've ever experienced that before, anywhere.Keep doing exactly what you're doing Martha's! We were blown away and we will be back!
