This farmer's market seems to be improving over time. This year I've attended all but one since they opened in mid June. Slowly, slowly the numbers of stalls and the items on offer are increasing. Since I'm really only interested in the fruit and veg, I've paid little attention to the other things available such as homemade soaps, jams or jellies. As for the veg -- and, save one stall selling strawberries, there has been no fruit -- there's quite a nice variety including things like very young leeks (hard to find otherwise) and small eggplants. I've also seen kohlrabi, various greens, and some really beautiful fresh basil and dill. This week, I was surprised to discover an orangish cauliflower, something I had not seen for sale anywhere before. Have to see what the next few weeks bring onto the scene. And just a note: compared to the nearby New Hope farmer's market, Market in the Valley is a good bit larger and has a wider variety despite what the reviews I've read say about how big the New Hope one supposedly is.

As local farmers markets go this one has a lot going on. Excellent hot food selection (love Kabomelette!) and lots of fresh produce. Today there was even a guy playing guitar and singing. The downside to this market is that singer's volume was too loud (other local markets like Kingfield/Fulton moderate the volume because the neighbors are right next door) and there were too many vendors selling non-produce related crap.Parking is available in an adjacent lot which fills up quickly.

This is a great community farmers market. I love the location and how it's just a short walk from my house. The people are very friendly and it gives you a pleasant community feel. It was a bit small but that's what I expected from a 1 day farmers market in golden valley. About 5 different fresh produce stands, a bread stand, a honey stand, two jam stands, and about 5 random product stands. They also had two good food stands live music and a girl who did free face paint. Overall a pleasant way to spend 30 min on a Sunday and pick up some reasonably priced fresh produce.
