It was a very busy night as there was a Wild game solots of folks eating before the game. We were fortunate to be in a adjacent room so it was quietermaking conversation easier. Three of us ordered petite filets which were very tender and cooked as requested. Service was a bit slow but okay given it was a busy night. Wine pours are generous and reasonably priced which is a nice change from most restaurants.

I had never been there before. Thought it would be kind of an upscale old-school steakhouse. It definitely was old-school and does have a great St. Paul, down home vibe, but not upscale - my bad, I guess. The salad was some lettuce thrown on a plate. The steak was cooked properly, but a little dried out. The service was hurried. Also, too loud to have a decent conversation with anyone in my party.Cool place - You have to go there at least once :)

Old world family steakhouse ambiance with free parking behind the restaurant. Service was exceptional. The host took us to the dining room to be seated and asked us which of two nice tables we preferred. Our server, Holly, was friendly, attentive, and helpful. The owner even came by to make sure everything was to our satisfaction during our meal. They only have two starter options and we opted for the herring and crackers, have never tried that before. The herring was simply pickled without any cream. It wasn't bad, but if we went back, we would probably either skip a starter or try the shrimp cocktail. For our entrées, I had the Mancini special New York strip with sautéd green beans. My steak was hand cut and a nice size, probably 14 to 16 ounces. It was perfectly prepared with a nice char, medium rare, juicy, and very flavorful. And at only $42, probably the best quality steak deal I have recently experienced. I highly recommend it. The accompanying sauté green beans were fresh, firm, and delicious. My wife had the walleye, prepared with olive oil and almonds, and it was very good. We had planned to share the steak and share the walleye. Neither of us had had that fish before, and I would definitely order that without hesitation. My wife was not a huge fan of the fish, but I was and definitely would recommend it. For dessert, my wife had a brandy Alexander. I tried the homemade special recipe spumoni. I have to say it was the best spumoni ice cream I've ever tasted. It is an old family recipe created by the founder with a local dairy. If we weren't traveling, I would've taken some home.My only disappointment was the 3.5% credit card fee they charged. Why so many restaurants have continued this policy post Covid is disappointing. It's like a price gouging virus. However, Mancini's has not jacked their food prices up as well. They have maintained high-quality food at lower prices than the competitors so the credit card fee is not as painful. This is one restaurant I would definitely return to even with that fee.

A very cool traditional steakhouse. Limited menu but committed to the classics. I liked the charred bread. Baked potato was good. Steaks were good not great. Let us take a birthday cake to go which was very nice.

It was my birthday and I wanted a steak. I've heard of Mancini's Char House for decades and decided to give it a try.The relish tray is nice but limited. The salad was classic but basic iceberg lettuce, a few cherry tomatoes and dressing. Simple but tasty. The steak was fine. Tasty and done to my liking but nothing over the top. I had some left over and chose not to bring it home. The garlic bread was plentiful but again, simple. It was my birthday and they did brink out a small iced cake. Super sweet icing, cake was a bit dry. Looks like the pump out lots of these every day as there were several other birthdays around us.Overall, Mancini's was good. It was fun to try a historic St. Paul classic. Would I rush back or recommend it to friends? There are other places I would send them for a good steak and sides.

It was just okay... I got the lobster and it was an extremely small portion which was "market price". I would have paid more if I would have gotten more Lobster. My boyfriend got the ribeye and he loved it!

My mom chose this restaurant for her 85th birthday. If possible I would give a 3.75Positives- great ambiance Great service, water carafe at the table. Food was decent - Grasshoppers are served here and done well. Great birthday cake provided for our mom. Negatives? My husbands steak was MR not the medium he ordered. I sent mine back it was ordered M came MR to R. Choice of baked Potato or Green beans. ( Just splurge and provide the green beans too. Im picky about steak house blue cheese dressing. You have to get it right. I'd rate it about a 6 out of 10. Vinaigrette was so strong I coughed. Bread basket was very full but bread was lacking in flavor. If you're looking for an decent meal with great atmosphere its pretty nice.
