When I found out about this place I absolutely had to stop in! It was surprisingly sparse. Very neat, yet very sparse. They only offer a very few things and they are very expensive so I hoped they were good and I was not disappointed! Everything tastes very high quality, just as you'd hope. The honey bonbons were hands down the best. They also had honey bonbons with sumac that were great. And I bought honey hot cocoa bombs for friends and family. The tiny chocolate bar I got had to be some of the best chocolate I've ever had. Plus, the guy working behind the counter was very chill and helpful. Overall this is just such a lovely little place to stop by, I love the vibe and the products!

This place caught my eye as I was heading to the cathedral for a tour, and when I walked through the door the smell and the vibes were just perfect - love the cacao pods sitting around. Their tan-colored "white" chocolate is phenomenal and unique, a must-try. Besides the bars, I also got a bag of honey bon-bons...and when the cathedral tour guide couldn't stop coughing (dry throat), I offered her one. Not only did her cough disappear, but a loopy smile definitely crossed her face before she got back to business...I realized later I'd given her the Smoked Scotch flavor!

Stopped in after meeting a colleague at the History Center. Tiny specialty shop. The chocolate is delicious. The bonbons were very yummy but the 70% bar was even better. Was treated kindly by the person working, I felt valued and that my business mattered. It is expensive, but worth it. It's a terrific indulgence. I'll be back for gifts and for myself. Recommend.

Not really off the beaten path, actually a path I travel frequently, down Kellogg near 35E, but also not close to any other businesses, tucked away next to a set of apartments that face Cathedral Hill. So glad I went in lovely, site made chocolates, sweetened with maple sugar and honey from hives on the roof. While the chocolate is on the pricier side, it is delicious, wonderfully smooth and bittersweet. I bought a bar for myself and bonbons as a gift. While, I don't imagine that I will be purchasing regularly, they will be added to my regular choice of locally made gift.

I was in here for a group meet up and the owner gave us a 'tour' of the shop and showed us all the stages of making chocolate. She gets her chocolate nibs from various Central and South American countries and then starts the process of grinding the nibs for days until they turn into liquid chocolate. We were able to sample this freshly made chocolate and it was delicious. She sweetens her chocolate with maple sugar and what were were trying was about 70% cacao and 30% maple sugar. There wasn't any maple flavor though. The word Miel mean honey, which is how Mademoiselle Miel got started. Raising bees and harvesting their honey. They bee hives are on various rooftops around downtown Saint Paul which makes her honey true Saint Paul honey. The chocolate canes she makes are delicious! They are chocolate filled with honey from her bees. Many have spices added to the chocolate for a variety of flavors and she hand decorates her candies with gold leaf. Truly a work of art that is wonderfully delicious to eat. If you stop in there is usually time for a quick tour and tasting. You've got try it if you are a chocolate lover!

i was really excite to find out about mademoiselle miel when i was looking at stuffs on the internet. I like honey and i like chocolate, and the pics of this place looked tasty. i read that they make the honey on top of the roof so that sound cool.but sad for me, I did not really like this place. the shop is in a weird location, kind of hard to find if you arent looking for it.not a huge selection of offerings here, but i tried the classic honey bunbuns and the coffee cream bar.VERY expensive!!! Wow i buy this as a gift, but would never buy for myself. $9 for 3 TINY little honey candies. $3 a pop lol no thanks, would rather have Big Mac. I tasted one and it just taste like Yowza straight honey covered in bad bitter chocolate. Im sorry, but that taste is not for me. the chocolate is unsweetened? too bitter for my bloodthey add edible gold leaf to make it fancy, but then just jack up the price. i dont even think it seems safe to eat that gold stuff.Coffee cream bar was..dun..dun..dun.... TWELEVE DOLLARS. What Lol!! $12 for a candy bar. I know its prob better quality chocolate, prob not made with slave labor (i hope) and thats great, but $12 come on lol, theres TONS of good fair trade chocolate bars in the single digit prices (Theo chocolate anyone??)i just didnt care much for that flavor either. it was a little too sweet for me, and the kind of thing where i couldnt eat more than one bite of it.overall, its neat that this place make there own honey and stuff, but the price is just a little too spendy for me Also wish the lady workin there was more friendly, seemed like i was bothering her by entering the shop

A unique sweet treat but off the beaten path. Honey filled dark chocolate treats topped edible gold leaf makes for a velvety mouthful with a lingering sweet bitter aftertaste from the rich luscious dark chocolate. Made from 60-100 % cacao , it's sure to wow any true chocolate lover. Amidst all their flavors , their original flavor The various flavors like Lemon turmeric, Maple white chocolate and coffee are delightful offerings Packaged in a compact beautiful gold box with 3 or 8 pieces. A bit pricey but it's handmade and local honey which makes it worth the treat or a perfect gift for someone special.
