Lu's Sandwich NE

I am soooooo annoying about Lu's. When I first moved to Minnesota a couple of years ago, this was probably the place I ate at most (not necessarily this location, but I've been to all three locations and they're all great). The sandwiches are HUGE and incredible bang for your buck--my go-to is the large vegetarian tofu ($10.75), which had a delicious curry tofu. Their meat bánh mì mi come with pâté if you're into that, but I'm perfectly happy with my pâté-less sandwich myself.The big thing for me about Lu's as compared to other places is they have this house-made garlic mayo(?) they use on all of their sandwiches that is LITERALLY to die for--I've had garlic mayo on other bánh mì but none of it compares to the stuff Lu's has. It's soooo buttery and adds a really nice richness to the sandwich that's a perfect balance to the heap of extra pickled veg that I always add.Even though I've only ever tried the curry tofu sandwich, Lu's has quite literally never steered me wrong and I'm always excited every chance I get to stop by.For this location in particular, there's also a nice free covered parking lot around the side, which is a huge plus in my book--signs outside the building will point you there!

We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for a bun mi sandwich. They have 2 different size bread, regular and large. I went with the large and it was huge once she put everything together. We ordered the cold cut and added grilled pork. One side of the bread has pate and the other side is the special mayo. The layout is just like subway, the person behind the counter will ask you if you want all the toppings or if you're picky just tell her. We also ordered the thai tea to drink with. Easy location, street parking with meters in the front otherwise they have a few spaces in the parking behind the store.

I've walked by this spot for a few months and finally stepped in. By the time I finished my sandwich I vowed to return. First and foremost, the service is extremely fast- perfect for those who are short on time. The employees who made my sandwich were helpful and willing to answer my questions, and I had many! And the ambiance in the spot was very lowkey and friendly. Also- the sandwich was absolutely fire. I'm feeling satiated and satisfied! 10/10 would return

Delicious banh mi sandwiches, large is decently filling but still need some sides imo. Everything was great, the meats were flavorful (meatball was my favorite but grilled pork was also very good), the pate was delicious. Wish there were more pickled veggies/jalapenos, and the bread was a bit soft, but still a very very enjoyable banh mi. Also tried the garden rolls (good, but very little pork and shrimp), the peanut sauce was pretty good, and the banh cam was nice too.

One of my favorite spots to run into when biking or just running around doing errands. Quick in and out, the standard Bahn Mi is absolutely delicious and the egg rolls are a nice extra side order. Sesame balls are a great option for desert. Ultimately, this is a relatively no frills, delicious Bahn Mi spot that delivers on its promise: A great sandwich quick.

Simply amazing!!! You're not going to find a better Vietnamese sandwich around. Lu's makes a top notch banh mi. When I come to Lu's I usually go with their pork sandwich, however any meat option is amazing. Also, don't forget to try their amazing egg rolls.

Stopped here on a trip to Minneapolis for the Bahn-Mi sandwich with grilled beef, carrots, mixed greens, and cucumber. As a longtime sandwich connoisseur, I can confidently say this is one of the best sandwiches anywhere, and it's a steal at just $12 for a large. Eat your sandwich fresh in store and enjoy the chill atmosphere.

I've been a customer for a long time and til this day they always miss something with my togo order. My most recent order, missing some veggies (not pictured) and no pate in all 3 of my cold cuts.

Some of the best banh mi sandwiches we've tried. Bread was crispy, veggies were fresh, and the grilled chicken was marinated and delicious. Would definitely come back and get again. And a decent price for the amount of food!
