Louie's Bar & Grill

Absolutely the coolest hidden gem in Hudson,WI. The Ahi appetizer was perfect! The Blackened Salmon was perfect! The staff is second to none! 2nd best meal that I have EVER had in my life. Damn close to the best, and I mean it! Must try establishment.

Their food was amazing, and the menu had just the right amount of wonderful offerings. Drinks were top notch and the service was excellent. The sound level was good and our table could converse without having to shout.

I just want to start by saying this solely based upon the experience we had while dining in the establishment.The server we had was excellent! She was on top of everything and very attentive to our needs. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice but confusing, which plays into the overall experience we had. The place is labeled as a "Bar & Grill" but does not fit into the typical namesake and is more of a bistro. The music is too loud and doesn't tie into the decor, one minute it was mariachi the next minute techno club music.Finally the food was underwhelming and overpriced. We started off with apps, the pork belly was adequate even when it was paired with minute rice...... the roasted tomatoes in our bruschetta were extremely bitter and not appetizing. Onto the main course........ I ordered the burger and asked to have it medium, I cut it in half and noticed it was raw in the middle, this wasn't as bad as the over abundance of "Louise's" sauce that was basted all over my burger to the point it was all over my plate. My wife ordered the pesto cavatappi, which she stated was ok, she's less critical about these things. Onto the aftermath..... we got to the Carmichael intersection when returning home, I'm glad we left when we did, I spent the rest of the night throwing up and having stomach pains. I only left this polite of a review due to the server, again she was amazing. But I will never pay $19 for a glorified undercooked Big Mac again, or spend $25 for what I would assume is a store bought pesto with a pale looking boiled chicken breast on top of it. All in the bill was $91 tip included($14).Also, another couple had complaints and issues with the Ahi sandwich and complained about the taste and smell of the fillet. The reason nothing was sent back when my wife told me to was due to me believing you get one chance to cook the dish right and I told her I wasn't giving them a second chance to F my dinner up. Plus, I didn't want to embarrass the server having to go back with the dish. They weren't even busy enough to have a legitimate reason to undercook my burger except for carelessness, nobody properly checked it before it went out or they don't know how to cook a burger. As for why I asked for medium..... most people over cook burgers or they sit forever due to lack of communication and have rested long enough to be acceptable. Lesson learned at Louie's.

The skrewball wings are some of the best around and inside looks completely different than the old restaurant.

The food and atmosphere were both excellent. Outdoor seating too. Good quality selection at the bar or wine with dinner. Clean and modern feel. Service was excellent and attentive.

We ate here once. Food was OK, but not for the prices. This is Hudson WI! Know your clientele or go somewhere else. 6 people and an automatic 25% "tip" for the lame ass service. 25%!!! Oh by the way, don't tell the payer that this has been added so you accidentally add 20% to the 25%. What a scam. Not welcome in Hudson. That's not how we roll. They call it a bar and grill, but act like it's some kind of fancy place. Again...it's Hudson and not downtown. We live a mile from here and so t be back. Maybe they will make it. I'd be surprised.

The place was clean and orderly and not busy for 6pm. Only one waitress working with four tables but the service was average at best. The food was less than average and at $20 for Mac-n-Cheese with nothing else included I can say I won't be back. Unfortunate because the place is nice.

What a find! This restaurant exceeded all expectations. The menu was so interesting and appealing and our table of four each raves about their respective meals. We had the airline chicken, shrimp chorizo fettuccine, filet, and elote salad with salmon. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Love this restaurant and we definitely will be going back.

Large family dinner at Louie's tonight. Great food and service! Will definitely be back!!!!
