No before you go jumping to conclusions thinking that Los ocampo is not good because of the 3 star review, just know this rating is for this location. Los ocampo is one of our favorite authentic Mexican food spots in the tc area but this location drops the ball. I've been going here since it opened and my last visit was underwhelming, we said our usual verbiage "the hurrache combo" and only received the hurrache to our confusion you're supposed to order a side of rice and beans now it's not a whole meal which is odd for a restaurant but okay. Flavor wise it is not the same as Los on arcade - those cooks over there are not playing around and make it perfect every time, suburban Los ehh yall need to put some tlc into these meals to keep the same level of perfection across the board but this tends to happen when a restaurant opens multiple locations, the OG is usually the best and the others just miss the mark.

Your typical Mexican fair. A little divey, but service was great and food was hot and fresh. Portions were large, but sadly no chips and salsa to start. I appreciate the amount of vegetarian options. There were some unique drink options and some fun twists on the Margarita. I got a grapefruit Margarita and I enjoyed it. Overall a good local place for Mexican food.

Been here 10 times in the past year, have never recieved worse service then today!!!! What happened ? Had to ask 3 times for chips salsa and queso. Had to ask for water twice, food came out wrong, was minus zero in the ladies room, hot I mean hot near the windows in the dining room, the server barely spoke to us. Rolled her eyes each time I asked if we could get the things we ordered. I've never not tipped before today! Wow! Do better. If ya order chips, bring them right away, if you said the lunch special is 3 tacos.....dont bring just one, if you say it comes with rice and beans but it doesnt...explain why ....when you have empty glasses fill them, its water! Bartender had to bring my beer cuz that also was forgotten! Ughhhhhh do better

I had the most mild mannered menudo with tortillas. It had just enough spices and herbs to cure a hangover, except I did not have one this time. Still, very good. The portions seemed a bit small at first for a hungry guy, but it was just enough. Chicken wings are ok and chicken tamales are good too. If you find yourself in the mode for mendu; get your fix here!

Delicious tacos and authentic taste. The soups are also pretty great! A must when in St. Paul

We have eaten at Los Ocampo many times. Today we placed a takeout order. A cheese Quesadilla. An order we have made many times. Always came as a classic Quesadilla would two flour tortillas filled and cut into fourths. Today we came home and opened up to a single flour tortilla folded over like a soft taco filled with some cheese and an over abundance of lettuce and radishes. Not at all what we have received when ordering the same thing in the past. It is Cinco De Mayo so they are incredibly busy so I assumed I was given the wrong order. I wasn't going to go all the way back but called to tell them of the mix up. I was then told that yes that is what constitutes a Quesadilla at their restaurant and there was nothing she could do. I explained that I had ordered Quesadillas from them many times and they always came looking like a standard Quesadilla. She said no- that is not what a Quesadilla is at their restaurant. I explained once again that this was not my first time ordering this dish from them but she was insistent. I thanked her for her time and hung up. Confused. It's not as much about the waste of money as it is wondering how I can order a favorite dish from them again and trust that what I am getting is what I want.

We visited this restaurant for the last time this afternoon. I was yelled at by the manager and basically accused of ordering a green salsa dish when I ordered a red salsa dish. I kindly told our waitress that I ordered red and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen. a few minutes later she came back and said that they don't have red aguachile. I again kindly told her that I didn't order the green please take it off my bill (the juice on this did not even look green, it literally looked like dirty dish water). As she walked back to the kitchen I heard her manager with an angry tone speaking in Spanish and stating that I was paying for the dish. I don't think she thought we spoke Spanish and when she came over to the table I told her the same thing that I was not paying for something I didn't order. She began to raise her voice and argue, "Did you order the green aguachile?" I responded in the same sarcastic tone at this point and told her no I ordered red. She repeated the same thing over and over again about 5 times. The tone continued to get louder and more sarcastic until she realized I was not backing down. She continued to talk and bitch about it to the bar and my husband attempted to go and talk with a manager and she said she was the manager. She started to argue and treat him the same way. Overall, this interaction was appalling and disrespectful. This is a different world and can't believe I'm seeing this behavior by management. The food is not good anymore and the prices are astronomical. I even contacted their corporate offices and never received a response at all. Very disappointing.

The tacos are good they kind of charge a lot for a basic taco and the horchata is watery wish they made it homemade

BE CAREFUL WHEN ORDERING ONLINE!!!!!! My review doesn't even deserve one star. I ordered over $100 in food for pick up at the suburban ave location in St. Paul and when I showed up to pick up my food, they told me a doordash driver had already picked up my food. My address was never provided, so where was this driver going to deliver food to? I ordered "pick up" yet they gave my food to someone to "deliver" it. They were not nice about it when I argued that my order was placed for pick up and not delivery and told me lies because my food was never delivered. They told me to bring up the issue to doordash and didn't even apologize for THEIR mistake! They never even provided me a link to doordash! I called Doordash and they informed me that they NEVER assigned a driver to pick up this order because it was ordered for pick up not delivery. So clearly Los Ocampos lied! Thankfully Doordash has AMAZING customer service and they fully refunded my money and apologized for a mistake they did not make. Do better Los Ocampos!!!
