Lonsdale Country Market

The young man who helped me today was truly impressive. I was greeted before I even entered the store. He asked if I needed any help and brought me a delish sample of the Canadian bacon. The other adults were chatting and I was able to find some beef sticks (SO many flavors) and smoked pork chops. The young man then rang up my order and I was on my way. That young man is a gem and will go places.

We've become kind of addicted to the meats at Lonsdale Country Market, ever since a friend gave us a gift certificate as a wedding present. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you venture in, the finds are all around you.There's lots of variety: my mother doesn't eat pork, so she loves the beef bacon; there are a zillion different kinds of breakfast sausage (do you want smoked or unsmoked? country style? maple? blueberries?); and a big case full of pre-marinated chicken breasts. But my favorite are the interesting and original flavors of burgers and brats. I've gotten Gyro, Dill Pickle, Chicken Cordon Bleu (yes, it's a chicken brat), Tomato Basil Parmesan, Pepper Jack, and the list goes on. They even have a Viking brat (with purple cabbage)!I have to put in a special word about the Swedish potato sausage. My in-laws traditionally eat this sausage along with their turkey on Thanksgiving, and this year we got four potato sausages from Lonsdale Country Market. It was a huge hit! We're never going back to the grocery store sausages. One caveat: if you're looking for something specific, as we were, it's a good idea to put an order in ahead of time, to make sure that what you're looking for won't be all sold out.It's about a half hour drive south from the metro, but our haul is always worth it. We've been coming a few times a year since we first learned about this place, and I don't see us stopping any time soon.

Good meats. Try the cranberry wildrice summer sausage!!! Original one of a kind recipies that cant be beat

Great meats. Lots of variety. Extra lean ground beef is superb. Homemade brats are good. Service could be friendlier, though.

Lots of variety for bratwurst including my favorite Honey Cheddar. I always get my prime rib from here. Staff always friendly and helpful.

Called over the phone to place a prime brisket on hold for the holidays and was told that there was one available. My wife picked it up and when she brought it home, the packaging indicates it is a choice. Very disappointed with this meat market considering it used to be my go-to. Had to find a new brisket. What a waste of time and money!

We bring our beef to Lonsdale for butchering. We have tried everywhere else in the area over the years and Lonsdale is, hands down, the absolute best. All our customers are pleased and we will never go anywhere else again. Thanks to all the people who make this such a great place.
