@laylinerestaurant continues to impress in every way we sat at the bar & had the kindest staff serving us - they gave amazing recommendations, too. loveeeeed my espresso martini(s) and absolutely everything we ordered. pretty positive you can't go wrong with anything on the menu if only we had room for dessert.......our orders: the johnnycake - ask for the jalapeño maple syrup. a work in progress that's headed in the right direction pok pok chicken wings w/ marinated cucumbers - the best cucumbers I've ever tasted & hunter's top 5 wings... ever. carbonara - 2nd time around ordering this & no regrets one of my favorite pastas in the TC. grilled pork chop - delicious and perfectly cooked, subbed the olive tapenade w/ grilled butternut squash. we will be backkkkk & sooner than the last time.

We went for brunch on Sunday and sat at the bar. Initially service a little slow but after that everything was perfect. I had the eggs Benedict, pictured. They made it special with baby asparagus, fantastic ham, perfect tomato and an outstanding hollandaise sauce. My wife had the standard breakfast. The potatoes were perfect. Try the rose versus the mimosas for an extra treat.

The vibes at Layline were spot on. Their interior decor and service and menu were all aligned and nothing felt out of place. Definitely curated perfectly, which I appreciate!Coming from Indianapolis, we find the food scene in Minneapolis to be next level. Especially the cost to experience/value ratio! Highly recommend!

Came here for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere and vibes are so fun and inviting. They have a cool bar area as well as a 4 seasons patio and a big patio outside. The service was exceptional, great recommendations and always checking in. This is a fun date night area or a fun spot to grab dinner with the girls or couples night out! The watermelon salad is a must! So refreshing. The oysters were probably our least favorite. Didn't have much flavor and were small and expensive compared to most places. Drinks were flowing!! Very unique and tasty! Pasta was great as well as the steak and the fries! Highly recommend the steak with the fries. Was a little surprised they don't do anything for birthdays but overall the service and ambiance was a 10/10!

Came here with a reservation on Monday evening. We had a really great server who was so kind and friendly. I got the cosmojito - a very light and refreshing summery cocktail that is the perfect blend of my favorite drinks. The calamari was nice and fresh and lightly crispy. The linguine was nice and creamy with a kick from the chili oil. I thought the added chicken would have been a part of pasta but was on the side but was super juicy and tender!A very cute place with a cute outdoor seating area which is perfect for this weather. Check it out!

Second visit to Lay Line and it did not disappoint. The menu changed a bit but still a number of options. The forest floor martini was SUPER good. So good I had two. The Johnny cake was also good but the butternut squash side was, and I rarely use this word, was orgasmic. I could have had just that and been very happy. But the pasta, hamburger and Hong Kong noodles were all well received. This is my new favorite go to.

I LOVE johnnycakes! Not that I've had them before now, but oh what an ethereal delight! They're lacy crisp on the outside, and so light and airy inside, with just a hint of delicate corn crunch. I could just have johnnycake and call it a night. But we did also get the creamy shrimp fusilli, which was savory and rich. I think the key is that they cook the sauce in plenty of shrimp shells, infusing them with briny deliciousness. The fresh Chilean sea bass was tender, capped with a perfectly crisp brown sear. The pineapples added a nice tart note, and even though I normally don't like endive, these were roasted to a lovely caramelized softness. Next time, I have a better plan. Just johnnycake for brunch, then come back later to try more dinner selections.

We went here for a work meeting. Service was impeccable. Food was good. We had calamari and scallops. They were not the best I have had but really good for Minnesota. The presentation of the food makes you feel you are eating at a 5 star restaurant. This is a great local restaurant and was greatly needed in the area. The ice tea was really good. Better than what you can normally find in Minnesota. I highly recommend making reservations. Plenty of parking near the restaurant.

Every dish we tasted at Layline had a wow factor! Starting with the fried calamari and roasted beets. The former was fresh and crispy, not the least bit rubbery, and came with an addictive Thai dipping sauce. The beet salad was a combustion of flavors with tender beets, pickled blackberries (don't knock it until you try it), and creamy burrata with specks of pistachios. I wouldn't have ever imagined this combination, but it was delectable. Their main dishes were also excellent. I tried their burger which did not disappoint - two smash patties with a juicy center and lacy circumference. Toppings were kept simple with melty cheese, crisp pickles and special sauce. We also ordered a side of duck fat fries - thin cut, salty and piping hot, do not skip! The seafood dishes were fantastic as well. The Chilean Sea Bass was seared to perfection and rivals the best sea bass I've ever had in Fort Meyers Beach, FL. The scallops were large and full of flavor. Our server answered our numerous questions and definitely steered us in the right direction on the seafood dishes. The indoor space has a small bar with ample table seating while the four seasons porch is lovely for any occasion. Excellent food and service with a casual ambiance right by Lake Minnetonka. With the recent closings of Red Sauce Rebellion and Bull and Wren, Layline is a welcome addition to the area!
