Lakeview Motel

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay close to work while apartment hunting, so we rented a room at the Lakeview motel for a week. I figured it would be dirty and dumpy like most cheap weekly rate motels, but i was pleasantly surprised. Although it is an old motel, it is the cleanest motel I've ever been in. When they clean your room, you get all new bedding, fresh rugs and replace all the linens. Not just towels and sheets like other places. Thank God, there are not bugs here! They have a dock with really great fishing, a bonfire area, and I believe they even do small boat and kayak rentals. The staff have been wonderful. There is a laundromat on the property as well. If you need a place to stay for a week or two, you cant beat it for only 275$! I would stay here again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend it to anyone needing a temporary home.

Steer clear of this place!! We got a room and I should have turned away after setting foot in the office area. It had a horrible smell that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Once we got to our room we were immediately overwhelmed with the smell of dirty socks and rancid beer. There was peanuts and trash on the floor and a "mystery" wet spot. To top it all off, someone's artificial nails were picked off and left in the nightstand. There was nowhere else for us to go because all places in a 50 mile radius were booked (Labor Day weekend). Needless to say, we spent most of the night in our car until we were exhausted and went and slept on the bed with our linens and pillows. In the morning, the awful smells were overpowering the tree air fresheners we had hung in the room. We left ASAP and will never go back, even if we were paid.
