Farm owners and workers are always so attentive and fun to visit with. They've noticed health issues with my horse quickly, notified me and personally helped as needed. Lovely on site trails and residential dirt roads to ride on. So thankful to be here.

I have boarded at Lakeview farms for a year now. What stands out the most about this place is the friendly community of boarders -a great fun and friendly crew!I love the onsite trails, the access to trainers and how much the owner cares about the horses wellbeing.

I've been going for a few years now, and no matter it always takes my breath away, sure there are a few things that are kinda crazy, but all the people there are kind and helpful. there is plenty of space for the horses and in the back there are acres of forest to ride, as well as a prairie for people to ride through.pastures are rotated seasonally which is nice, the property also has a beautiful lake that people can swim in with the horses. They recently did some work on the indoor arena, now we have a separate area for the toys and equipment. Though I have not leased yet, my teacher has always said that if I am to lease I have to go regularly as well knowing how to ride and communicate to the horse. All in all the people are nice, the place is healthy and the horses are well taken care of.So to people who are interested in going riding that are in Hugo, look for lake view farm.P.S I am an apprentice to Jen so to those who wants a women who is open minded and understands others and knows how to talk to people as a human. Then I recommend looking up inspiredhorsemenship.

I have boarded at Lakeview for eleven years now. It is a beautiful property and the horses are well taken care of. The owners act with the best interest of all the boarders and horses in mind. The property includes many pastures the horses are rotated on during the seasons (always on grass in the summer months!), indoor arena, individual tack lockers in the tack room, outdoor arena, obstacle course and trails. It is also a great community of boarders -- people look out for one another and share the community spaces well.

Care isn't provided with your board. Fortunately there is a great family style community of folks boarding here that will check on your horse for you, if asked. What is included is the basics - food, water and shelter:Shelters are inadequate for the number of horses. It is demanded that boarders blanket their horses according to owner's determination of weather. This service is not provided by the farm. The fences are deteriorating causing injuries. The horses are in muddy paddocks Oct- June. Thrush is a constant concern. The summer pastures are large and the horses are rotated. Hay is poor quality and has caused health problems for many horses. The automatic waters often have issues The indoor arena is often crowded in the fall/winter/spring with multiple lessons and folks trying to ride. The trainers are all fantastic and work around each other well, there's just a limited amount of space and room to groom/saddle. The footing is uneven and not maintained for the frequency of use. The outdoor arena is large but about 1000 feet from the barn. It has poor drainage, it is more like a solid open area to ride than an arena with footing and rarely maintained with a drag. There are trails and an obstacle course area that was built by fellow boarders. Be careful of gopher holes. The tack room is new but there is a rodent problem. Any requirement you may have is subject to a fee and condescending lecture. The owner will try to diagnose a horse regardless of what a vet has to say. Fortunately she rarely leaves her house. Chores are completed by a group of young teenagers and a revolving door of adults. Communication is by public posts on Facebook, often with rants and negativity. What this barn has going for it is a community of friendly folks that support each other and a few very talented trainers. Lessons do require an arena fee and a charge to use a horse if you don't have your own.

Terrible place! My teenage daughter leased a horse for a day and was bucked off. When she asked the owner for a different horse or her money back she was told she was lying. She got in a verbal altercation with her and told her to leave the property. I have been to this place myself and there is some "craziness" that goes on here. Far too many horses, not enough help and an owner who is a piece of work. Stay away!!!
