We hired Lake Country for a large addition and remodeling project and have had problems from the design process to the finish. They were a month late, over budget, and the quality of the finish work is terrible. The new stairs they built and multiple walls are crooked, we've had two significant plumbing leaks since moving back in, the wood floors are so rough we've gotten slivers, there is human hair in multiple spots under the polyurethane, the paint and tile work is extremely bad, and they've caused substantial damages throughout our home. Most importantly, their response to all the issues we have had has been unprofessional, unaccountable, combative, and exasperating. We hired them based on their long-standing reputation and a recommendation from a friend, but unfortunately our experience has not reflected their reputation. The friend who recommended them has since let us know others have had similar experiences to ours.

Had poor experience with Lake Country Builders. PJ was the agent and came out to repair a leaking kitchen ceiling. I mistakenly did not get a written estimate as time was of the essence. I let the agent know how much insurance would pay and he said the repair would for sure be less than than the $2000. Repair was finished and total bill came to $3000. On top of that the ceiling repair became stained after the repair was done and the agent came out to check and do a leak test. He said he could not find a leak. So I paid $3000 for a repair that was not repaired. The agent insisted he performed a quality job and insisted on full payment. Do not trust this company. They also gave me an estimate for deck staining of $1200 that I had done by another company for $350 that included pressure cleaning and 2 coats stain.
