Taco Tour! Yummy veggie taco!
the entrance to the store
shelves of canned food
Tacos, three options. 1.75 a taco.
Chicken tamal, al pastor taco, carne asada taco
This stuff is great for seasoning just about anything, but also gives great color to pork (achiote/annatto).
Heartache 5.99
This is suppose to be their taco al pastor. You can obviously see the carnitas. It was hidden under the marinated chicken. Gross

Used to be a nice place for cheap tacos. Not anymore. Any place that doesn't have a menu with prices is a red flag for me.

The tacos were ok, the dining area smelled like old meat and the women's restroom was really dirty :/ Only giving it a 2 because the young lady was kind.

I stopped in this place to grab a bite. I wish I had time to look more and shop in the market. Everything looked so good and cool! They have lots of bakery treats, produce, meat, dairy items, candy, canned goods, and more things you can't find at a regular grocery store. The little cart outside was selling some type of fruit/drink that seemed popular. Most things here are in Spanish so I wasn't sure. I ate at the restaurant inside, where most people were getting meals to go from. I had the chicken tamal, pastor taco, and carne asada taco. My favorite was the carne taco. They give you two big bowls of salsa, but I only wanted a little.

I know I reviewed this place before, like back in June when I went there. Hmmm.Excellent Mole by the # in the deli area. We tend towards the jalapeno mole. Yeah, they have different kinds to choose from. Really this is a grocery store/market, and the mole is thick and dense and comes double wrapped in plastic bags.We just leave ours in the fridge until we need it, then mix it with water to loosen it up a bit. Lasts forever. Then we go to the small counter and sit in front of the plates of cut jalapeno and onion and the grill and order us some cheap ass tacos. The menu is on a dry erase board, and I don't know what half of it is (Spanish from High School is such a distant memory)Cabeza? Head.Pollo? Chicken. That's as far as I get.You can watch them pull the meat out of the simmering pot and chop it up in taco sized pieces on a round cutting board with a wicked butcher knife.I think they are like 1.25 per taco.

I've had a great experience every time I've eaten here. Last weekend I had a rich and hearty bowl of menudo for an excellent price with flour tortillas and generous fixings (9 dollars, I think). The soup was packed with enough buche and tripe to keep me full until the next morning. Today we had great barbacoa de res tacos, a breakfast plate of huevos a la mexicana and a horchata. These were simple, but very inexpensive a good. Meat was tender, eggs were nicely cooked, beans and rice on the side were fresh and hearty. Two tacos and the breakfast plate were enough for a filling brunch for two people and I think the total came to about 15 dollars. This place reminds me of some of my favorite family-owned sit down mexican places in Los Angeles. You'll notice that the clientele is primarily local spanish-speaking folks, but the staff does speak English. A knowledge of more than the basics of Mexican food and little Spanish will help in the ordering process, though, as there really isn't a way to translate things like "Chilaquiles" into English- they have both the green and red and they are also very good.I think the people who've had bad experiences were expecting this to be a taquería, when in reality it's a bit more like a family diner - come ready to sit and talk for a little bit while you wait for them to prepare your food to order. Also, although the tacos are good maybe try something other than tacos (they have a pretty deep menu). I'll try to post a picture of the menu soon so folks can come prepared. Finally, I question the veracity of several of the bad reviews I am seeing for this place. The way the ordering works is that you come in and pay for your meal when you order it at the counter - I don't understand how people were " to get the check" or were "pressured to give them my cc" -- strange -- well I guess yelp is anonymous so people can write whatever they want and not be held accountable, in this case it's too bad that it is hurting what is obviously a family-owned business.

Mexican supermarket, bakery and restaurant. We stopped by to check out the supermarket part but immediately decided to have lunch as well. The restaurant area is small but really nice and quiet with the traditional stone counter and the open kitchen. We tried different tacos and they were all tasty and cheap. It is a great place to stop by for lunch or a quick snack. After lunch we moved to the supermarket which has a really nice meat counter as well as some great fresh products. We ended up buying a bit of meat, mole poblano, queso fresco, guacamole and tortillas. The guacamole we brought to a party. We got to the party a bit early to help out the hosts.... well by the time the other guests arrived, the guacamole was basically gone. Shameful I know, but it was just that good!I think we will go back for more.

This place is incredible for buying mole (go to the meat counter and get the stuff they make) and other things you won't find in non-Latino settings. They have always treated me very well. I am _SO_ happy that they are a part of my neighborhood. Thank you _SO_ much. Kindly keep on rocking the shit out of things!

We drive an hour into the cities every so often just to shop here. Their mole that they sell by the pound is excellent, especially the Oaxaca-style black mole. The rajas/panela tamales are also to die for, even if they do sometimes use jalapeños instead of poblanos. It's also a great place to stock up on favorites like sangrita (Viuda de Sanchez), palanquetas, etc. that are somehow hard to find elsewhere. If only they sold morelianas!
