All you can eat sushi? I'm in!Say what you will about AYCE sushi restaurants... I personally love them. Sure the quality isn't quite as good but it's without a doubt edible and the flavors are always pretty solid. This particular location had kind of a weird atmosphere. It was trying to be fancy but missed the mark and just kind of looks old and dumpy. Nevertheless it was clean at least. Our server wasn't exactly the friendliest person ever nor was she very attentive. It was a bit tough flagging her down for most of our lunch visit. Food is good. Don't go in expecting super high quality fish and you will find yourself pleased I feel. If the service was just a better this would be 4 stars! @danny_runsforbeer

Kyoto Sushi in Roseville offers a solid sushi experience, but nothing that stands out as extraordinary. The sushi is fresh, and the variety on the menu is decent, though some rolls feel a bit basic in terms of flavor. If you're looking for standard options like California rolls or spicy tuna, they do the job well enough, if you want something of their best quality I would recommend the tempura shrimp and some of their special rolls. What really elevates the experience is the service. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making sure you're well taken care of throughout the meal. It's a pleasant dining atmosphere, with a lot of noise and very busy. We had to wait about half an hour before we could get seated. Definitely plan ahead and be sure to bring extra room for dessert!

Nice restaurant, good sushi - located inside a dumpy mall - 4 stars.THE MALL: This was my latest adventure with a Kyoto location, one that I've never visited before. The first thing I noticed is the mall itself is pretty crappy. The restaurant is on the north end of the mall, inside the mall itself. The very first thing I saw (when I pulled into the lot), was a police vehicle loading an arrested suspect into the squad car. The next thing I noticed was the sad state of the exterior...cigarette butts all over the place in puddles, exterior siding in disrepair, and a dirty greasy utility door with 2 people smoking cigarettes by the restaurant entrance. Yuck, yuck, yuck!FOOD: The food was exactly what I expected - good. I know Kyoto is a chain but I think they usually do a good job. I ordered 3 sushi rolls and they were good, bursting with flavor and arriving with a beautiful presentation.SERVICE: As usual, the service was impeccable. My server was completely on top of everything, attentive, and friendly.CLEANLINESS: The restaurant seems to be clean. I checked out the restroom and everything was good there...no nasty surprises. The décor is nice too. I couldn't help but day dream and wonder what this space used to be in past decades. It's huge with super high ceilings and a weird geometric block wall behind the bar that looks like it used to be an old bowling alley wall or something from the 60s. Pretty cool.PRICES: The prices seem to be reasonable and in-line with similar sushi joints in the Twin Cities.LOW CARBOHYDRATE: It's easy to eat low-carb, keto, carnivore style at Kyoto. I avoid big piles of rice, huge noodle portions, added sugar, and anything that might be concealing crappy "vegetable seed oils". I might have gotten some in the yum yum sauce and the spicy tuna roll but I think it was pretty minimal...I hope. Of course, you can get a few animal based hot "kitchen" appetizers and also a couple of the soups.I'd go back again any time. Thumbs up.- Maxx

Is the food here amazing? No.... Is it all you can eat? Yes!You definitely all about quantity than quality here. The food is nothing amazing but it's decent for all you can eat. I honestly do visit often which is why I give it 4 stars. The menu is pretty big and they do offer a big selection. Unlimited Nigiri & Sashimi is a plus! The space is pretty huge compared to the Lyndale location. There's also parking so that's a plus.As for the service, it really depends. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not. They are pretty good at remembering what you ordered. Overall, it's pretty fine for all you can eat.

The reviews for Kyoto Sushi are such a wide range that I can't make heads or tails of it. Our experience was pretty banal: we came in, got seated, did the All You Can Eat, and worked our way through some rolls.Nothing was a stand out, but nothing was bad either. The tempura came out steaming fresh, the various rolls (Volcano, Sakura, Pizza, a few others) were good enough for our expectations, the service was friendly and attentive. All in all, a decent sushi place from our experience.

I was invited here for a group birthday celebration. The one-price-per-person made it easy to split the bill, and the restaurant was well-equipped to handle our party of nine. We started with an assortment of sushi, rolls, tempura, and noodles to start with, put everything in the middle of the table, and shared, being careful not to order too much. They will charge you if you order excessive amounts and waste it--and you can always ask for more. A good strategy is to order a few things, see what you like, and get additional servings of the good stuff.Very festive and fun. Service was friendly and lightning fast. It wasn't the greatest sushi/tempura I've ever had, but it was good and worked well for our big group. I think the basic price is $39 per person. With tax and gratuity (automatically added for our large party) it came to about $44 each.

I wanted to like the sushi here, but it was very lackluster. I ordered spicy tuna and salmon rolls, and the fish is more like a paste mixed with breadcrumbs. It feels like it's filler and texture-wise, not good.

Nothing nice to say about this place. Stopped here during lunch with my husband very hopeful based on the reviews on google. But boy was I disappointed. The food quality is low. The nigiri is warm and does not taste fresh at all! I am not sure why others are reviewing this place and giving it high stars. The service was decent. Our waiter came by a couple of times and she was friendly. The place is outdated and could use some cleaning if we're being honest. It was busy for lunch, with faint music in the background and Harry Potter playing on a projector. Management really needs to reconsider the menu options and quality of food. I will definitely not be back.
