Kumo Sushi

If you're ever in Rochester, MN, and craving AYCE sushi, Kumo Sushi is a fantastic place to go! From the moment we walked in, our experience was nothing short of fantastic, thanks in large part to our amazing waitress. She was an absolute gem--friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in getting to know our family dynamic. Before she left, she was saying, "pass this to mommy, this is grandma's, etc." SO cute! She offered great recommendations, and put some minds at ease for first time sushi goers, which made it all the more fun.I will note that we had some folks doing AYCE, and others ordered Ala carte, and this made no difference to our waitress, or Kumo! The Ala carte portion sizes were huge! The food? Hot, fresh, and delivered with lightning speed. Like seriously, I thought they had secret microphones under the table. We couldn't believe how quickly everything arrived--no waiting around, just one delicious dish after another. And let me tell you, we left so miserably full that we could barely waddle out the door, but it was worth every bite. If you're looking for excellent service, delicious food, and a great vibe, Kumo Sushi is great - go!

So sad that I have to leave this place only one star. The food was pretty good. I went with my two kids who love sushi. We all wanted to try the AYCE option. My 12 yr old daughter was charged as an adult, fine. The woman who seated us explained not to waste food and the menu also says a charge will be applied for wasted food.Throughout our meal, I was careful to order only a little at a time so to make sure we would not waste. We ate everything we were served except for one roll was not finished because everyone at the table truly did not like it. The waiter came to the table and noticed the unfinished roll and insisted that I eat "three more pieces" or I would be charged for excessive waste. I told him I was not going to do that because I didn't like it. He spoke to the manager and came back saying I had to pay an extra $8 for the uneaten pieces but that I could take it home. I said I'm not going to take it home because I don't like it! I was ultimately charged the $8. I will not be returning because I feel that they are price gouging and 2/3 of a roll of sushi is not excessive waste for a table of 3.

Great place for some AYE sushi. Went with my MIL and little one, and it was a fun lunch experience. We enjoyed trying all the different bits of the menu, including the hand rolls, sushi, deep fried goodies, and soups. This is a value meal for the price of $18.99/person. Some highlights were the tomago (egg) sushi, mackerel / eel / salmon sushi, eel cucumber roll, and the salmon teriyaki. The ice cream was a bit mediocre and some the pan fried items were a bit too greasy (avoid shu mai and dumpling but a yes for the shrimp / squid / taro tempura. Great place and look forward to coming back!

Great service, tiny bits of fish but it is all you can eat so you can just order as much of it, the price is affordable esp with lower prices for kids, it was pleasant. We will return again.

Hmm...not quite sure what's going on with their quality. I ordered the sexy girl and Christmas Tree roll to go. Both were probably some of the worst sushi I've had in Rochester. Their "spicy" tuna mix tasted fishy and "off". It wasn't even remotely spicy. I can't say I'll ever order here again. And I paid almost $40 for two rolls that I ended up throwing away.

One of my favorite spots in Rochester! The all you can eat menu is HUGE and the food is so fresh and well prepared. The service is good, the restaurant is clean and the prices are fair. It's my go to sushi joint in Rochester!

Two huge reasons that I will be back, the service was excellent and they serve Coke products. I had the AYCE, and I did. The rolls are good, but didn't stand out against other sushi spots. The beef teriyaki was super tender. The chicken ramen was not great, but this is not a ramen house, so I didn't expect it to be wonderful. I would love if the place wasn't so dimly lit, but whatevs. Like I said, I'll visit again.

Sushi, soup, and dumplings were all great. I also really appreciated the friendliness of the employee who gave me a tip on how to save money at my next visit. I will be returning on my next trip to Rochester!

Food was fine, nothing great. Prices were good. Service was horrible. Came for all you can eat sushi and ordered one time in an HOUR. Sat here with empty plates waiting so long for service. Many other tables were experiencing this too we could hear them talking about it. Then I didn't like a roll and they charged me extra, which is said in their menu, however I didn't think it was "excessive food waste" for a few pieces of sushi. Disappointed and won't be back. There are other sushi places in Rochester I'd rather go to.

I'm sad that I have to leave a negative review on Kumo, but this is a vital piece of constructive criticism for not only the owners, but the website administrator/designer. FIX YOUR WEBSITE PLEASE!!! Long story short, we thought we ordered 2 Spicy Salmon rolls off of Kumo Sushi Online Ordering, but received a box full of sashimi, raw fish. Alright..... we absolutely did not order that, we actually wanted a couple of rolls of sushi. The ultimate issue is that the website coordinator decided to list Sashimi and Sushi Rolls in the same exact spot. They did absolutely nothing to clearly identify their menu items or how to correctly order them. It wouldn't have been a problem at all, if we were able to figure out another plan for our incorrect order.... considering we spent over $40. When we approached the front desk assistant, we were given nothing but attitude and rude remarks. Of course we weren't able to fix any of our order, since the worker was so invested on making us feel like idiots for not being able to navigate the poorly made website. Not to mention, we ordered the absolute simplest item, spring rolls, yet we received fried egg rolls. Just an absolute mess, so many mindless mistakes. Kumo, please fix your incredibly unprofessional website and spell the address correctly... it's laughable that you butchered the word "Crossroads".
