This is a hidden gem! It's a grocery store that has a deli. Mainlygo there for food.I am a pappaya lover. Pappaya is really delish! Not too sour or fishy. Just right! Must try it! Egg rolls, rice roll, sausage, sticky rice, pork belly, chicken wings all taste like usual food u can get from Hmong Village or Vinai. Their side of pepper is bomb. I've bought veggies from their and their veggies are always fresh and nice.

Authentic Hmong food for pretty good prices. This is the only place I'll get papaya salad from on this side of the Twin Cities and I have tried several other places in the area. I also like getting their sticky rice and grilled chicken. The pepper sauce they provide with the chicken is not the typical super salty kind of sauce that you usually get at HmongTown marketplace. Def a go to place if you're craving for Hmong food and don't want to drive all the way to Saint Paul.

Located in a small strip mall in a suburban neighborhood, it's a medium sized family owned grocery with all the supplies and ingredients you'd require for your South East Asian cooking. The best part about this grocery shop, is the deli in the front of the store. There are a variety of S.E. Asian food, from chicken, pork, to noodles and papaya. The deli food here is made fresh throughout the day. The Hmong "fawn kauv", almost like a crepe, and similar to spring rolls, is excellent! It's the first time I've seen a non-generic "fawn kauv" in an Asian market. Most other Asian markets carry generic factory pre-made "fawn kauv" which is okay, but not as good as the authentic, freshly made kind. The dipping sauce for this is flavorful and very spicy! Like in most other places, papaya is made to order. It takes less than 5 minutes and the cook will give you a small amount to sample after she is done making it. If you prefer more heat or more of some other ingredient, now is the time to let her know. The papaya here is very good in my opinion, but the cook does use a lot of crab in the ingredients, so if you don't like that kind of flavoring, or if you're allergic to seafood, watch out.

Always hit up this spot for their deli food. My only dislike is their eggrolls, it's greasy and filled mostly with cabbage with very little to no meat.Their service is lacking and on busy days, there are lines for the deli and cashier. I've walking out a few times after going in and seeing people line up for deli/cashier. Or i'll not make my full order just because i feel guilty holding up 8 people behind me as I ask them to make papaya salad. If im doing this, im sure there are others doing the same. Losing out on customers due to unorganized service.

Get your papaya salad, pork belly or Hmong sausage with sticky rice fix here. Order it at the deli and then pick up other to-go foods. Sooo good. These items are decent price, others can be a little over priced depending on what you buy. The wait can be kind of long if you're waiting for food to be cut up/made for you. 5-15 mins. They have limited staff and some don't speak English. They have some veggies and some selection of southeast Asian foods, but are limited if you're looking for something ex: limited in Korean, Japanese, Chinese cooking ingredients, etc.. I believe they don't take Discover credit cards. Takes EBT, but you have to group items separately for food vs cash because their system has issue doing this. Very limited selection of packaged ramen noodles, Asian snacks, fruits if any.P.S If you're not SouthEast Asian, this is the best place to try papaya salad (it's Hmong/Lao) style. It has a great balance of salty and tart and is fairly consistent in taste every time I buy it here. It's more on the sweet and sour side which is not my favorite, but I think this is good for you greenhorns who can't handle the very pungent/spicy type of papaya. If you can't handle spicy, only ask for 1 pepper in your papaya. It's still gonna be pungent though, but sweet-sour pungent.

The cookers have an annoying habit of not listening when we don't want them to add certain food items into our papaya. They still make it with the ingredients that we requested we didn't want in our papaya. Like people could seriously have food allergies?? Don't you cookers know that? Shake my head.Furthermore for some reason when a friend had ordered papaya they proceeded to had skipped the friend order and gave two other people who came after my friend their papaya first. My friend waited 30 minutes only for them to turn around and ask the friend "What would you like to order"? Freaking serious?!!!!! We have been costumers of Koob Siab for a long time now. We've never complained to them when they get our order wrong or if the food tasted bad but this was the last straw. We understand that they are old and just trying to make a living. However enough is enough. We quit going there and will never go there again. Btw I really don't like how they shred the papaya up to small pieces and the papaya always taste super sweet. We always, always have to add lime to it. I don't recommend their papaya because it's super sweet. The only reason we get it here is because NL Oriental is too far of a drive. Also why do their naab vaam also known as tapioca coconut drinks sometimes have the soapy flavor to it? I don't know what it is but it taste like straight up soap!! I don't know if the coconut they have in there is overdue or something but it's nasty! It's always a gamble with their naab vaam so I never get it there anymore. I really hope they see this and tell their cooker to listen more!!Edit: Yes their lines tends to get super long. They usually only have 1 cashier register open even though there's two and then for their deli there is always 1 person available for you to order but that person is also going in and out of the kitchen. Which really backs up the line.

Great little hmong place for hmong deli. Price is reasonable but for sure price of chicken wings went up. Papaya salad is a hit or miss depending on who is making it. Aisle can be cluttered with inventory at times which definitely needs to be taken care of. But overall I enjoy speaking to the elders whenever I'm there to grab some sticky rice and pork belly.

Nice store for a quick grab ready to eat southeast Asian favorites e.g fried chicken with sticky rice, ribs, papaya salad, laab , chili paste etc. laab is not as flavorful but the fried chicken was nice.Price is inexpensive and store is relatively clean. I will be back for papaya salad for sure!
