My family visited Knapton's Orchard and did NOT feel welcomed or comfortable at all due to the fact that the majority of our time there, we were being stalked by the elderly man (known as "pops" or "Mel"). Our group consisted of adults and kids and, while picking raspberries, he drove up to us in his kart and just sat there... watching and lingering around us. Afterwards, we went to pick apples and he again followed us there... watching and lingering... and even proceeded to literally yell at some of the kids accusing them of "throwing apples" and stating - more than once during our time there - that it was "a serious apple-picking farm". Once we were finished, we went to the entry area to pay for our fruits, and again, he followed us there... watching and lingering, and he made sure we were all buying something and made it known that if no one was going to purchase anything, that there is a $4 fee for each person. I tried to tell him that we were all going to purchase something, but he was too busy calculating the $4 headcount to even hear me. Anyway, I finally make my purchase and of course voice my/our frustration of how we were being treated by him during our entire visit and how he did not make us feel welcomed or comfortable at all specifically only targeting us/our group the entire time. Of course the staff are this man's kids so of course they defend him claiming "he is the nicest man" and "he's not racist". Sure. Ok. I expected THAT response. I'm sure he is ... if you look a certain way. It's unfortunate our family outing had to end like that and that the kids had to witness such gross racism. Needless to say, you will never see us there again. We will be spreading the word to allies of anti-hate and anti-racism.

Second time here to pick your own apples but we were a slow bunch this morning and so no apple picking but we got to take home what was already picked! We got to pick the fall raspberries and take was fun! I also did some weeding of the pigweed for purchase to take home! Definitely my favorite farm to go for all things and it's not a bad drive from Minneapolis! It was a busy morning today! Will have to come here super early to get in on the pick your own and I love that you can pretty much pick most of everything there yourself even corn!Another great service today and five stars all around!

A family owned & friendly place to go to! This is our first Fall in the area and I found this place randomly on maps and decided to give it a try. So glad we came & the people were so nice and helpful. We had our own wagon for carrying the pumpkins and containers for the fruit and veggies. We did a full walk around the farm and spent probably a solid hour going around. If you are looking for local produce and fresh fruit this is the place to go! We got a bunch of stuff and 2 pumpkins for $22! If you're looking for activities and games this is not the place to go to. I would definitely recommend this place & will be going back another time!

What a gem! Beautiful extensive family owned acreage property with several varieties of apple trees, pumpkins, fresh flowers, vegetables, herbs, enormous sunflowers and a tomato greenhouses. Perfect place to let the littles roam and explore nature. Raspberries are amazing and plentiful! We are so happy to have found this close and convenient farm and plan to become frequent visitors.

These type of places family owned, down to earth pick your own stands are getting harder and harder to find as the expansion of the twin cities continues far into the hinterland so I was glad to take the drive out Hwy 55 to this gem.My primary motivation was to pick some fall raspberries and I definitely over did that a bit - 7 lbs worth - but now have LOTS of jars of fresh jam, a bunch of frozen berries in the freezer for the long, cold winter. In addition to the beautiful raspberry patch, they have a large variety of apple trees. Fortunately, they had a wide variety already picked and ready as I was about done with the pick yourself urge. I also purchased some amazing, but small, "luscious pears" (a variety that was new to me) that were tremendously flavorful, a couple of pie pumpkins and some gourds. The big fear about places like these is that they get swallowed up by the ever expanding tracts of cookie-cutter, suburban McMansions and it wasn't hard to hear lots of nearby construction. But in talking to the proprietor, he assured me that they have no plans to sell, and that in fact he just planted a couple hundred more apple trees. Bravo!Definitely my new go-to spot for fall produce.

A nice pick you own farm with so many different varieties of apples. Of course you are going to have to come here more than once as they don't ripen all at once . I was really impressed with the honey gold. We came to pick a pumpkin in mid October but most of the pumpkins were already harvested and set up for display up front. We were late for the fall Raspberries by about two weeks. You'd think we'd be very disappointed but the kids still had a great time rummaging through the orchard hoping to find one of the last apples. Also we managed to find an illusive large white pumpkin, gourd. We did buy a bag of honey crisps and those we amazing.

They do have nice fruit but the service is just terrible. We went there twice. The middle aged men(seems like brothers) are very bossy when telling us what to pick and what not. I get it that you want certain rows to be picked but we are not your workers. Maybe try to be a little nicer? We picked a few pears by the apple tree, when checking out, we were asked, "don't you see the sign that says don't pick pears". I honestly didn't see the sign, there was at least two other families that picked pears with us. Maybe make the sign bigger??? Never coming back again.

We didn't expect racism and rudeness when we visited this orchard today, but yet there it is! My sisters and I were at the raspberry bushes with their kids. We are Asians. This man drove by in his cart, and I first noticed him, sitting there watching us, then he circled around us over and over again, constantly staring. Whenever he drove by other white families with little kids, he didn't pay any attention to them, but he continued to drive around us and watched. We started walking towards the apple trees in the back, and he followed behind in his cart. He pulled to the side, and I watched him walk around slowly behind the kids. Wherever they went, he was standing nearby. One of my nephews, who is 7 years old, pulled an apple from the tree, and another apple dropped to the ground. He started yelling, "I saw that boy throw an apple." I said, "He didn't throw it, the apple dropped." He replied, "I saw him throw it. This is not a playground! Get what you need and leave!!!!" We walked back to the front, and he followed us there, too. When it was our turn to check out, he made sure he was the one behind the counter so he could charge for everything he thought we picked. He asked my sister how full was the basket of raspberries before we got to the counter!!!! He also told my other sister that if we ended up not "buying" anything, he would charge $4 for each person in our group. Seriously?????? He didn't ask anyone else. I did complain about how he drove around and watched only us the whole time we were there to another guy who works there, but it turned out, the old guy is his father!!!!! Wow....the place is shit! Not only are they rude, and racist, but the orchard is tiny, and picking is slim! Don't waste your time or money!!!!! It's not worth it! He clearly was looking for a reason to tell us to leave.
