Keefer Court's original bakery was located on Cedar Avenue. I was fortunate to have visited it a couple of months before it shuttered for good. Well, that's what we all thought. The original owners decided to retired after being in business for nearly forty years on December 31, 2022.New owners resurrected this bakery. It moved into Asia Mall. It offers the same yummy offerings with a few twists.I loved the baked goods that I got last time. I decided to check out version two of this bakery. It's on the first floor of the mall. I went in on Wednesday evening. Naturally, coming in later in the day doesn't get you all selections of buns. However, I did take advantage of getting a deal. If I bought two buns, I got a third for free. Great!I got a tray and tongs, and fetched the following buns:- Lemon custard- Coconut- Spring onion This store had a lot of goodies. There were mooncakes, tarts, and Vietnamese desserts. It also had hot foods like their old location.I brought my tray to a woman behind the counter. I had two cans of chrysanthemum tea that I had purchased from Asia Mart. I had them close to my body. She rang up my items. I looked at the price. It was high. I asked her if she included my drinks. She did. I said that I bought them at Asia Mart and there was a reason why I pulled them closer to me. They weren't a part of what I was purchasing.I then looked over at the drinks that this bakery had. I asked if she had this drink. I didn't see it. She admitted that she had a different variety.Be careful if you are coming to this bakery with items from the supermarket. This woman seemed to like blindly ringing in everything. When the price was corrected, I paid with a credit card. All was great. This woman put my baked goods in a branded paper bag. She wanted to also put my drinks in a plastic bag. I declined. The bun were delicious. I had the lemon custard in the car. It was so good. The lemon custard was tart and yummy. The bun was soft and carby.I had the spring onion bun for breakfast before I checked out of the hotel the following day. I love a savoury bun. It was delicious. The coconut bun made it over the border when I drove up to Winnipeg. I actually forgot about it until I checked into the hotel. It stayed yummy as I ate it on my flight from Winnipeg to Toronto. So good!I'm happy that this bakery endures under an ownership change. Just be careful having checkout-happy staff ringing in your purchases from Asian Mart.(14)

We loved going to Keefer Court Bakery back when they were in Minneapolis and so glad that they are back. Great selection of baked goods and other desserts. The bbq pork pineapple bun is one of our favorites. The staff were friendly and helpful. Love the overall atmosphere of the place.

I'm so glad Keefer Court is back!! I frequented the original spot on the West Bank and was pretty bummed when they announced they were closing. Seeing it reopen in Asia Mall makes my heart so happy.A few things I noticed were that with the larger space, there are more buns! It looks like they are able to set out more buns per "batch" which is helpful when you have a line of people waiting for fresh buns when they open! I did also notice prices have changed - they've increased quite a bit from what I remember. But it makes sense with the location change and the higher potential foot traffic. The savory buns are as amazing as they were on the West Bank. I feel like the sweet buns have changed a bit and maybe have more average flavors - not sure if the recipes or baking have changed. Either way, I'm glad KC is back and will continue frequenting this new location!

I went on a Monday afternoon around lunchtime. The place had 2-3 customers. I felt like there was limited food items since most of the shelves were empty - but the day I went was after Mother's Day! The shop was clean. There was a few tables available to sit and enjoy your baked goods. Overall, welcoming environment. There are trays and tongs that you would grab to put your pastries and take with you to checkout. Some items may need staff assistance like getting a pulled pork bun or curry puff behind the counter. I bought a strawberry turnover, custard bun, pulled pork bun, curry puff, and agar-agar jelly dessert. My favorite is the curry puff! I can't wait to come back for more and hopefully, next time I go is on a weekend.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! I'm so excited that Keefer Court is opening in the Asia Mall! I tried the old location during a Yelp Elite event, and everything was SO GOOD. So I went back to get more pastries, on what happened to be their last day in business. I couldn't believe it was closing, and that I would never get to have their delicious curry beef puffs, egg custard tarts, and green onion buns again. But I just heard on MPR that they sold to new owners just soft opened in the new location. It looks like they're open on a limited basis right now, but I'm hoping lots of people will go try their amazing pastries so they will stay opened for a long time. These are super authentic, high-quality Chinese pastries that you can't find anywhere else in MN. Let's all go and support them!

Finally made it to Keefer court, we used to go to the minneapolis location when they were still open. We always enjoyed the fruit cakes, buns, and desserts. This store is nice, fancy from the outside. Similar to the other bakeries I've been to, take a tray and tongs. Pick out whatever you want and bring it over to the register to pay. Otherwise if you're there for cakes behind the glass, just go straight to the counter.

I'm so happy that Keefer Court is back! It's right on the first floor of Asia Mall with a bright and luxurious space. I tried going during their soft opening, but the line was looooooooong. I decided to be patient and wait a couple of weeks. Now I have found myself going there multiple times a week because I just can't get enough! They have something for everyone. Want something sweet? They have that. Want something savory? They have that too! I'm still making my way through their offerings, but the BBQ Pork Bun is my absolute FAVORITE. The perfect midnight snack, or a perfect appetizer, or an entire meal! Can't wait to try everything on their menu.

MN standards, five stars for Asian bakery. Compared to NY or CA, three so I'll stick to the middle. I got sticky rice dumplings both savory and sweet. Huge and flavors were good. Egg tart was good. They also had sticky rice in the green leaf zongzi which I was tempted to get but not for 8 bucks.Very clean, food was fresh, good amount of customers. Will def come back
