Kbop is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the city. The menu runs the gamut of traditional Korean foods, and everything I've tried has delivered in full. A few personal favorites are the budae-jjigae (military stew), seafood bibimbap, and jjajangmyeon. The space itself is straightforward by design, cafeteria-style and counter service. It can get busy during dinner during the school year, especially on winter weekends when a roiling stew hits like nothing else. One thing to be aware of: you have to buy any drink you want, including bottled water. And should you venture to the spicier side of the menu, you'll want a one. It'd be cool if they added even a simple water dispenser as this can feel a little cash-grabby, but the food is good enough and reasonably priced such that this can be overlooked.

Came here for some warm Korean stew and this place delivers. The jjamppong veggies are a little different from the typical cabbage, carrots and onions but the Smokey flavor is spot on and the banchan sides were a great accompaniment. Size of the soups are very reasonable and shareable with a friend if you order an appetizer. This is cafeteria style seating so order and wait to pick up when your number is called, when you are done return the tray.

When I say the portions are big! Wow. Hopefully the picture do it justice. It was yummy too. I wouldn't get the rice cakes just because there wasn't a lot of fish cakes in it. I would go back just for the noodles. It was almost 3 meals in just that alone. So it makes the price of the food which was $55 dollars worth it. The service was fast. You order and sat down, the got up to get the food. I really liked sitting there and talking to my friend because of the cafeteria-like atmosphere (if a cafeteria had a lot of wood). I would come back.

DELICIOUS Korean food, in a modern, no-frills and minimalistic kind of atmosphere. Service was okay considering you order at a counter, then pick up when your order is ready (yup, just like at McDonald's). We arrived around 7pm and there was only one person in front of us when we got in line to order. After we ordered, our food was ready in 5-10 minutes. Here's what we ordered:1. Beef Bulgogi (5/5) So delicious and flavorful and perfectly cooked. Order this every time!2. Japchae (4/5) Yummy, but not as good as the Bulgogi. We ordered with chicken, but it was a bit dry so I wish we opted for the beef. 3. Dukbokki (2/5) It was hard and chewy. Spice level was ok, but it wasn't the best dukbokki I've tasted. 4. 2 Bottled Waters for $1.50 each. (0/5). Have I mentioned how much I hate paying for water at a restaurant? Also, be prepared to pay for parking, or parking far away since the Dinkytown U of MN area parking situation can be difficult sometimes. On-street parking was about $3 per hour. I would definitely come back when I'm craving good Korean food.

One of my favorite places to get Korean food. I love their consistency and everything always tastes great. The portion sizes are pretty hefty and I always end up with leftovers. The dining area is always lively and I love how open it is despite how small the space looks. It's an order at the counter type of restaurant, so don't expect someone to come to you. Some of my repeat orders are the mandu, veggie pancake, japchae, spicy pork stir fry, bulgogi, ddoboki, and yukajang.

Always a great spot if you're craving a quick Korean bite. Today, I got the beef bulgogi plate. With a mixture of grilled beef, veggies, and slightly sweet sauce, you are in for a juicy meaty treat! Service was quick. Makes for a fun trendy spot by the University of Minnesota!

There is paid street parking nearby. It's open at least, closed this coming Monday and Tuesday for the 4th. Order at the counter and pick up your order when they call your order number. No names here, you are just a number to them. The woman taking your order wasn't warm or inviting or friendly at all. We ordered bottle of water, kimchi fried rice with the egg scrambled, kimchi jjigae, kimchi jeon, tteokbokki, Kimbap. $62.39The kimchi jiiage comes with soft tofu instead of the hard tofu at our favorite spot back at home. It's subpar, not a big fan of the broth much. Their kimchi pancake is really thick and nice and crispy. It's quite good. The banchans: cucumber, braised fish cake and kimchi, all are okay. The tteokbokki is okay, the rice cakes are bloated and slightly overcooked. The kimchi fried rice is super salty and maybe too heavy on the soy sauce, it's not as good as our favorite restaurant back at home. Actually most of the dishes are quite salty. You will likely need to get more water as you go. We were so thirsty as we ate our food up. It was quite backed by the time we left the place.

Decided to try this spot out even though my usually go to spot is Korea Restaurant on Oak Street. I thought this place might be cheaper, but I believe they are the same price! Seafood pancake - needs to be crispier, too soft. Had good taste with the dipping sauce but needs to be fried more.Rice cake with spicy sauce and dish cake. I have never had this dish with fish cake but it wasn't bad. Not my fav dish. Rice cake could have been softer.Beef Bulgogi and the Kalbi were both excellent! Cooked well, tender and full of flavor!I also ordered Pork Bulgogi and Japche to go but came home to open 2 orders of Pork Bulgogi! The pork Bulgogi was really good but I was disappointed to not try the Japche so guess I'll have to come back.Overall the food was pretty good. We were happy with the quality of the food.

The location felt lively and cultural attractive. I love going there to get my bibibamp and sushi rolls. Their ramen is also so good that I wanted to return again.
