There now is a fee for General Admission and the cost is $20 ...but it's so worth since the MUSIC and IRISH DANCING are the bomb! Awesome crowds, music, Irish dancers, band and bagpipes...! Vendors sell kilts and shirt and Irish hats and there lot kinds and lot good food and Irish Beer and whiskey wine. The music and dancing are plentiful and varied. The food is very tasty, and there is a variety of food vendors which make it easy to find something delicious at all prices. Now they accept cash and credit cards, no more tokens...hoorah! .

You don't have to be Irish to visit Irish Fair...but now you do have to pay the price of admission. The admission fees vary from a VIP experience to a daily general admission. The stages have been reoriented, which I'm sorry to say leaves most of the day performances on the main Dublin Stage in the full sun for the audience. I appreciate that they wanted to try something new, but full August sun & heat were oppressive for me. Close parking is a premium, so bike or ride share or bus in from the St. Paul Depot to save your cash for the more important things at IFM: Guinness beers, Celtic artwork and kilts, Anchor fish & chips. Don't forget to bring your lawn chair & SUNSCREEN if you do not buy the VIP passes. One very last and important thing: The MUSIC and IRISH DANCING are the best here!

Probably the most entertainment and variety of any fair in town for free. There is a dance tent with Irish dancing all day, the main stage, many creative vendors, a cultural building, dogs, sheep and men in kilts. There is even a men's best legs in a kilt contest. This would be where I insert some joke about 'ay got a tilt in me kilt' but I won't since I already did.Easier to take mass transit to Union Depot and ride the shuttle for free. Driving to the fair is shorter but then you'll have to pay $10-$20 for parking if you can find a space or keep driving further out tackling massive road construction. There is some different types of food outlets as well as the usual fair food items to please everyone.

Incredible music that is free. Incredible line-ups if you are into Irish music! There are also Irish artisans and dancers- tons of fun to watch. Three days of fun. Great choices for the food and beer if you like that style of no holding back with calories and cholesterol and fat. Cute dogs are there too- Irish dogs, of course. Kilt contest?Parking is $10 in a lot nearby- of which there are quite a few.Wear your green! ID check, and tickets purchased, then you're ready to partake in all the festivities.

The largest/best festival in the Twin Cities that nobody knows about. Excellent food. Fantastic beers. Legit irish dancing. Irish folk/rock themed bands. Rugby, sheep herding, Irish dogs. Ridiculously large shopping tent. FREE ENTRANCE. The only thing that sucks is the location. Harriet Island is such a pain to get to and even worse for parking. Beautiful spot/grounds but a pain. Even with that this might have to become a yearly thing for me. Like the state fair but less annoying.
