My favorite chicken pot pie for takeout or dine-in!We went for brunch and had a delicious time. The smashed potatoes are crispy and great for sharing. The biscuits are perfect, and go so well with all of their breakfast menu items. My order was the perfect amount of food- savory and filling and I didn't need a bite more. There is a big free parking lot in back (that I didn't realize was there). This is also the place we often get pie for holidays because it's so good, and they sell it by the slice, as well as mini-pies and hand pies. You bus your own tables, and no alcoholic drinks, so just be prepared for that.

Back again at hot hands! I got two frozen pies to go - they are a winter staple in my house. A very easy dinner and they include reheat instructions! I love that you can see into the bakery as they have large windows to see. I also grabbed a chai-der drink! Such a perfect fall delight. Staff is incredible friendly in this small down bakery!

I stumbled upon this gem this week when looking for a homemade quick service breakfast while in St. Paul. A quick yelp scan of the nearby restaurants pointed to Hot Hands. For starters, bonus points for accessible parking in the back. Entry doors both in the back and front of the restaurant. I loved seeing the open glass feeling into the kitchen. Makes you feel like they've got nothing to hide. After all, good food means good food sources, cleanliness in storage and preparation.Decor was welcoming and warm at the same time. Very clean. My eyes immediately went to the shortbread chocolate chip "cookie type biscuits". They were calling my name already at 8am, even though I scoped out the avocado egg biscuit online before I even got there. Of course, I had to buy both.Wowza! That avocado egg and siracha mayo biscuit is perfection in a single serving. I was worried the siracha mayo would be too hot or messy but Hot Hands masterfully architected each layer for both perfect presentation , AND it didn't fall apart when I forked my way through that divine sandwich.I had to also "taste"The shortbread. Good gracious the texture of the cookie is a warm nuzzle between a hot chocolate chipCookie and a crumbly biscuit like crust. I immediately thought of Le Beurre Bordier French butter when I bit into it. (I'm sure they didn't use Bordier but that bite reminded me immediately of France).Later I mentioned to a colleague of my delightful experience. She mentioned she often goes to Hot Hands but never had breakfast or their Shortbread. She says she knows them for their pies.So that's my next item to try ~ a pie. I'm sure it's great. That little kitchen there is just perfect for the team there that is giving TLCTo every dish they're making. If you love Good food- then support small businesses like this so they keep employing the peopleWho dream up these wonderful gastronomic treats. Life is too shortTo waste it on McDonald's!!!!

I've really enjoyed my experience at Hot Hands! Great staff and service and the vibe makes me feel so happy. I got the matcha latte with a mint syrup shot and it was delicious! What a combo! The syrup wasn't overly sweet and it tasted almost like the real mint plant. My partner got the peppermint mocha and he loves it - pretty sweet. The cranberry apple pie - my partner said 'is like a party in his tongue' because it's sweet, tart, a little salty, and almost a little peppery from cinnamon in the crust and crumble. I totally agree with the assessment. For mains, we got the honey fried chicken and it was delicious! The biscuit was perfect! We also got the hash, which was good overall, but not mind blowing. I will definitely be coming back.

I love getting a weekend breakfast at Hot Hands. Their biscuits and gravy is vegetarian (which is hard to find) and reminds me of the biscuits and gravy I used to eat while living in Nashville. The party potatoes are always so crispy and well seasoned. Food usually comes out quickly sfter ordering at the clinic, and I love all the fun plants growing throughout the restaurant.

Customer service was great:Met by two lovely ladies to take our order. Walk in order and grab your seat. Decor- very pretty and delightful.Ambience:Smaller but a very good spacious feel. We went for brunch time.Food:I like the concept of doing pot pies has a a main food. Pot pies are classics in American contemporary food. After everything thanksgiving, leftovers especially turkey becomes great pot pies. Here no exceptions:Chicken pot pie:Very crispy and very delicious- they use a puff pastry dough which I like very much since you get the crispiness and flakiness from the puff pastry dough style. The filling very hime comfort feeling of chicken and stuffing mixed with a flavor gravy. Nothing to complain about but just great ole American pot pie.Biscuit breakfast sandwich with ham: comes with crispy delicious ham that tastes like bacon. Sunny side egg cheese and top off with pickle peppers. Very good , can't go wrong with biscuits- ham and cheese and egg.Party potatoes: we got a side of party potatoes- they making how I like it. Whole potatoes boiled and smash flat- then fried to crispy. Very tasty and good. The mayo sauce is fine. Nothing fancy.Drinks:Strawberry matcha : since it's their new item drink. It was not made like other places. It didn't taste much of matcha or the strawberry flavor. It was not even sweet at all. Overall very plain tasting with hint of strawberry milk and foam. Cold brew:Very good and with the good amount of ice to taste the cold brew coffee. Nothing fancy but good coffee.Overall:The ambiance was very nice. Open and spacious with an open kitchen concept. Everything we ate was good. Can't miss a hardy breakfast of pot pies and biscuits with a modern edge feel. They succeeded in decor and food execution. Will come back for the pies. lol

Hot Hands is a casual place for brunch in St. Paul. My family and I are from out of town and just found out about in on Yelp. We stopped by to grab breakfast on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy but had plenty of seating. You order at the front counter and they bring your food to your table. I ordered the Ham Biscuit and Party Potatoes. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery. The biscuit sandwich was very flavorful, although kinda hard to eat (only because it's huge!). The potatoes were super yummy and were crispy on the edges but fluffy inside. You can definitely share this with 2-3 people. I thought the prices were reasonable. I was so full after. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in St. Paul again...and will not skip on the pies next time!

A bright good vibe place that we can't call a coffee bar, but more like a restaurant coffee bar style. The coffees are cold brew and drip blend which is somewhere between a medium and dark roast, leaning dark. Unfortunately the coffee this day was served below the proper temperature, hence not a five star rating. Who's a snob? Me? Well hell ya, been drinking the brew since I was 10.The shop is friendly, helpful and has a creative selection of baked items and small meals. Biscuits pies in small and large servings. A quick coffee snack for me was the Cheddar Biscuit with a crunchy crust and soft insides. Many types of dipping items and I would return to try again. Looks like a great place to just hang as there is plenty of seating.

This little place has a great vibe--all the detailed wood makes the modern style feel warm and welcoming. That vibe matches the food perfectly because it is wholesome and classic, yet presented with modern flair. I mean, just look at that square biscuit! And, of course, it was very tasty.

This has very quickly become one of my favorite brunch spots in the Twin Cities. Their avocado biscuit is a 10/10:--the biscuit itself is flaky, moist, and buttery--the fried onions add a tasty saltiness, tanginess, and a nice crunch--I want to eat the roasted serrano mayo on everythingIf you're with others, I would absolutely recommend getting the party potatoes. The portion size is large for a single person (especially with a biscuit), but they're so worth the calories. I also really enjoy their cold brew, either with cream or their special frothed flavored heavy cream. This past visit, I had the peppermint foam on the cold brew and it was delicious. Parking is a breeze, since there is a parking lot behind the store. Turning off of/on to Snelling can be a bit scary/dangerous, but the risk is worth the reward for sure.
