My husband found this gem liquor store long ago. They are tucked next to the bakery in a ho-hum location you might not know was there unless you were specifically looking for them. They are a small store and if you're looking for wine or spirits, they have a pretty standard selection. However, if you're looking for specialty beer, this is your place. They have so many rare or more difficult to find beers and really focus on local and craft brews. We always find something we've never seen before when we come here. Staff are also very friendly and helpful if you're looking for something specific.

Thank you, Brian R.Beer geek heaven sums it upJohnny O likeyPlace is kind of small with a 50's vibe and a little off the beaten path for me. In my *cough* *cough* years of existence living in the Twin Cities, I don't think I have ever come across the intersection of English and Frost in Maplewood before. I guess that is what Yelp is about, right? Finding great businesses you never would have on your own. Awesome beer selection here, including a large make your own six pack selection. Went with the following: Brooklyn Brewery Monster Ale (first time I have seen this anywhere, and it will be my first to sample), Lagunitas Sucks Brown Shugga Substitute Ale (also first time seeing this anywhere), Left Hand Sawtooth Ale, Great Divide Denver Pale Ale, Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale, and Big Sky IPA. Grand total? 12 bucks. Pretty reasonable, if you ask me.Guy at the register was a little slow ringing up the product. Took what felt like five minutes. He said he was filling in. No biggie.

Nice local liquor store! Located just off the Bruce Vento Trail (if you're on a bicycle or hiking), Frost Avenue by other modes of travel! I like that this liquor store wants to keep their patrons healthy & giving hand sanitizer out when you walk in. They are currently keeping the number of people in the store to a minimum for social distancing safety. Good-keep your patrons healthy and they can come back again & again!

Not sure why it took me so long to even hear about this liquor store after going to my gym for a year that's a literal 5 minute drive away. Luckily I heard about so decided to check it out one evening on the way home...First impression at 9pm on a Friday night? Little sketchy looking from the parking lot, haha. But inside! O-M-G. Literal craft beer lovers dream shop. I spent a lot of time wandering, seeing beers I had looked for high and low but never finding with plenty of availability here (Death by Coconut, KBS to name just a couple). Lots of great local and national craft selection here. The owner has a special shelf that he brings out cellar aged beers every day, and you're always likely to find something interesting there. The store clerks have always been super helpful, letting me know what they just got in fresh that day, what might be coming up and to keep an eye out for, something interesting or rare they just got in, or picking out a brew that matches the style I'm looking for.The only downside is it's really hard to leave there without spending all my $ :)

Looking for craft beer? & a whole lot of it? How about hard to find imports? Stop your search! Heritage has it all!The other yelpers have it right, this place is crazy awesome. Each time I make a stop @ Heritage, I am impressed & wowed with their amazing selections & superior customer service & knowledge. Beer tastings are held twice a month or so... a great way to showcase their business as they have SO many beers that other stores just don't carry. I don't think I will ever buy beer anywhere else. A hidden gem.

This is the place for craft beers and ales. From the outside this store does not look like much, but it is my favorite craft beer store in the Cities. There is a selection of wines and liquors, but the focus is definitely on the beers. The standard crafts are here as well as various local and international brews. The owner is the surprise here. He knows his stock and it great at recommendations tailored to the customers taste rather than the all too common spouting of whatever has recently become popular. He is also a very good salesman and once he recognizes you expect to have a list of new brews in stock. Walking out under budget can become a difficult task, but it is nice to always have something new to try. Pick one or two of his suggestions and just politely turn down the rest as he gets very excited discussing beer with his customers. The store is about a half hour drive from me and there are other craft beer shops which are closer, but Heritage is the only one I shop at regularly.

I am chiming in with the crowd just to say that nothing has changed: Heritage is still the go-to spot for craft beer. Their selection is most excellent and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about what they have. I often ask for and take their recommendations for new and/or seasonal varieties and am seldom disappointed.Their selection of local craft beer is also great. They have one cooler that is always stocked with some of the big local names. I would like to see even more, but that is truly nitpicking. I will go elsewhere to buy other liquor, but this is the only spot for beer.

I've gone to this store multiple times because it is the closest to my house. The lady at the register wouldn't sell to me because my brother was with me and he didn't have his ID. I had my ID, I'm 23 years old and they are carding my brother for standing there. My brother has gone in the store with me every time and we have always been served. They just lost a customer today.
