Excelsior's Hidden Gem for Chinese Comfort FoodFolks, let me tell ya, Happy Garden II is the real deal. If you're lookin' for Chinese food that hits all the right notes, this place has got the rhythm and the soul. The service? Mighty fine. They're fast, friendly, and know how to treat a hungry soul right. You walk in, and the whole place has this authentic vibe that makes you feel like you've struck gold in a small town. Now, let's talk food. The Hot & Sour Soup? Like a well-played fiddle--spicy, tangy, and hits you where it counts. The Szechuan Chicken? That's your fiery guitar solo, full of bold flavors and just the right kick. And the Sweet & Sour Chicken? That's the steady bassline, crispy, tangy, and downright addictive. Every bite feels like a song you want on repeat. The portions are as generous as a storyteller at a campfire, and the prices won't leave your wallet crying. If you've got an appetite for something tasty and a heart that appreciates a place that's got its act together, give Happy Garden II a try. You won't regret it.Y'all go now, ya hear?

What a hidden gem! We stopped by for a late lunch and were immediately seated. The staff were abundantly friendly and the service was top notch. The variety of the menu really ensured everyone has something that fits their taste. The food was fresh, delicious, and the portions were just right. They're in the process of updating the prices on their menu, but I felt like they were very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is so welcoming, I can't imagine not returning. We found our new favorite Chinese food spot. Bonus points too because the kids meal is like 10$, and was a healthy mix of food, not just chicken and sweet and sour sauce. My kids got Boba Tea on the way out and said they were on par with the rest of our dining experience. If you're on the hunt for a Westonka Chinese Restaurant, look no further, you've found it. Thanks Happy Garden II, you'll be seeing our family again soon I'm sure!

Very quiet, lowkey spot. Lighting was low and the service was good. Our waitresses made sure to check in a lot and got our food out super fast. Definitely a hidden gem but a good place to get in if you want your food fast. For the two entrees, three plates of fried rice, and two appetizers and drinks our total was about $70. Huge servings, will be back:)

Literally the best chow mein anywhere. I get the plain chow mein, and it's like the celery has been pressure cooked at 10,000 PSI for a week it's so plump, and it melts in your mouth. It's a guilty pleasure I indulge in a few times a year. The cream cheese puffs are also excellent.

I've been to this place twice now (both times for lunch). The lunch special is solid and comes with an entree, choice of white or fried rice and then you get to pick between an eggroll or cream cheese wontons. I would say this spot curbs the craving but isn't anything I would write home about. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars because there aren't many Chinese restaurants in this area to choose from so I appreciate them being here! Will be back and try other things to see if maybe they are better.

Happy Garden II is one of a few Chinese restaurants in the Chanhassen area. We've ordered takeout multiple times, mostly wonton soup and a chicken and vegetable dish. Over time the prices have increased and the quality of the offerings has varied from very good to disappointing. As a family-run business it's hard to believe that Happy Garden II is experiencing the same staffing issues other, larger restaurants are experiencing. So, it's hard to accept the wide variations in the quality of the food. After our most recent experience, which was mediocre, I think we'll be looking elsewhere when we get a craving for Chinese. I hope they can get back on track.

Decent Chinese for a way out suburban Chinese food restaurant.I usually like ordering online to make sure the order is correct on our side and theirs. However last time I ordered online from Happy Garden, I noted it routed through a China POS website. When I saw that, I'll be avoiding this way to order in the future. I avoid eating in since occasionally it's loud with the family members that are in the dining room.

Just left and it's safe to say this is one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Service was fast and food was amazing. The restaurant was calm and a great place to eat with family or friends! 100% will dine there again soon!

Love the beef in spicy Szechuan sauce! This is under the authentic section of the menu. Also love the fact that there are many gluten free options. Food is always hot and ready to go when I get take out.
